    Fulham 0-0 Aston Villa

Conor Hourihane looked to have twisted his ankle a few moments ago, sliding under no contact. But he's up and running. Should be OK.

Sam Baldock again tries to make something happen for Reading as he gets onto Garath McCleary's ball before flicking an effort at goal but Mark Howard does well to save with his foot.

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Aston Villa have been a little tepid so far as an attacking force but neither goalkeeper has had to put his gloves on anything really.

    Watford 2-0 Tranmere

Tranmere skipper David Perkins is fed the ball on the right and there's space to put a cross in. He doesn't and the chance is wasted.

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Fulham 0-0 Aston Villa

Jonathan Kodjia, who has looked very lively so far, ends up smashing the ball over the bar from a tight angle on the left side of the box after a neat build-up by Villa.

He should have hit the target there!

    Southampton 0-0 Huddersfield

It is attack after attack from Southampton but their final ball has been disappointing and another promising build up falls flat as Jake Vokins' lofted cross goes over the head of all his team-mates.

  9. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Oxford United 0-1 Hartlepool United

A corner is defended well by Oxford United and they look to break forward with pace. It's swiftly switched to the left and back over to the right but when the cross comes in, it hits a defender's back and lands safely into the hands of keeper Mitchell Beeney.

    Fulham 0-0 Aston Villa

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Aston Villa midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

The two players that can hurt you the most when you're playing with central defenders like Fulham are the opposing full-backs. So El Mohamady and Taylor are the two players that should have a bit of room whenever Villa are in possession to venture forward.

    Watford 2-0 Tranmere

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Final Score

Tranmere have been trying to play out from the back. Don't get caught out in poor areas of the pitch if you're going to do that, but they have. Nathaniel Chalobah has spent a lot of time out injured and runs straight to the dugout (after scoring Watford's second goal). This could be a long afternoon for Tranmere.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Watford 2-0 Tranmere

Nathaniel Chalobah curls a ball into the box and Andre Gray goes to the ground. He's appealing for a penalty but it's hard to see on first viewing.

Was he pulled back there? The referee doesn't think so.

Cardiff are trying to respond to that early Carlisle goal, winning a couple of corners in quick succession but they both come to nothing.

  16. CLOSE!published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

Preston North End 0-1 Norwich City

Ahhh - Preston should be level! A lovely ball in by Joe Rafferty finds big man Jayden Stockley at the far post, he meets it well but heads into the side netting.

    Big chance.

  17. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

Henri Lansbury puts the defence under pressure and keeper Marek Rodak ends up having to hoof it out for a throw-in.

  18. Postpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Oxford United 0-1 Hartlepool United

Good defending from Peter Kioso, who gets a foot in just inside the box to kill an Oxford attack.

Hartlepool are holding on well and moving the ball around nicely so far.

  19. Postpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Southampton 0-0 Huddersfield

Southampton have had 76% possession in these early stages but are yet to create any real chances yet.

The hosts did have an opportunity with a free kick but James Ward-Prowse's delivery was comfortably caught by Joel Coleman.

"I'm just happy to be involved. The second half went so quick. I could’ve played for another hour! It was a great feeling to score the goal.

"I went to Newcastle with Bristol City and had a good game so i'll be looking to do the same again."
