    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

    Rochdale close again!

Brilliant play by Oliver Rathbone as he touches Luke Matheson's cross past Federico Fernandez but then prods a shot straight at Martin Dubravka. Anywhere else and it would have been a goal.

Newcastle are dropping deeper and deeper.

Michael Smith: Re Mark (13:48) Joelinton can't score, can't win a header from goal kicks, first touch goes to an opponent, can't hold up the ball? What is he good at?

Chris Wood is down receiving treatment at Turf Moor. That won't be good news for Sean Dyche.

Joe Hart nips behind the goal and has a chat with some fans nearby.

GOAL - Rotherham 2-2 Hullpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Tom Eaves (66 mins)

    He's done it again!

Tom Eaves is left unmarked in the box as the ball comes in from the left. He just nods it under the crossbar.

Hull had come close a few minutes earlier, with Daniel Iversen pulling off some good saves, so it has been coming.

    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Since Rochdale made the change and brought Aaron Wilbraham on they've looked a better team but Newcastle are still controlling the game. How Newcastle are not winning this game by more goals, I don't know. Whether it's bad play or bad luck, they should've put this game to bed.

  8. Postpublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

Newcastle could have been 3-0 up after 30 minutes but they are under a bit of pressure now.

Rochdale boss Brian Barry-Murphy looks to make the most of this spell as Ryan McLaughlin is sent on to add a bit of energy on the right-hand side of midfield. He replaces Stephen Dooley.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

Turning into a bit of a cracker at St Andrews as Jeremie Bela drills a powerful shot towards the bottom right corner.

Blackburn keeper Jayson Leutwiler pulls off a brilliant save to tip it around the corner.

Joelinton's header is awkward for Robert Sanchez but the Rochdale keeper does just enough to push the ball around the post.

  16. Postpublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Bristol City 1-1 Shrewsbury

Niclas Eliasson has by far been Bristol City's biggest threat and he is not far off restoring the Championship side's lead as he puts a 25-yard free-kick just wide of the upright.

The hosts send on Callum O'Dowda and Andreas Weimann to try and win this.

  17. goal

    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

What an opportunity for Henderson to get Rochdale back in the game. There were gaps in the Newcastle midfield and not a lot of pace on Rathbone's shot but Dubravka should've done better.

  19. RED CARD - Ivan Sunjic (Birmingham)published at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Birmingham 1-0 Blackburn

Two minutes after coming on as a substitute, Ivan Sunjic is off.

  20. PENALTY - Blackburnpublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Birmingham 1-0 Blackburn

    No, no, no!!!

Ivan Sunjic, who has literally just replaced Gary Gardner for Birmingham, gives the ball away to Sam Gallagher at the back then panics and brings him down in the box.

    Absolute shambles.
