    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

    Should be 1-1!

Oliver Rathbone drives through midfield before having a go at goal. His shot lacks power but it is awkward for Martin Dubravka, who spills the ball into the path of Ian Henderson but the Rochdale skipper hits the post with his follow up.

    Good spell for the hosts.

Aaron Wilbraham has been a good addition for Rochdale in the second half. He can keep the ball, pass it to a blue shirt and it's allowing Rochdale to get up the field.

    Rotherham 2-1 Hull

Michael Smith wants another goal. He dances into the box but can't get a shot away as Brandon Fleming comes sliding in to make an excellent block!

    Excellent defending.

Mark Lynch: I keep reading how bad Joelinton has been, typically his one good performance was against Spurs, which might say how bad our defence is this season

Mark Adamson: Let's ease off Joelinton. He's clearly struggling to score but he's a much better player than his NUFC record so far suggests. He'll be fine - be patient

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Rochdale 0-1 Newcastle

Newcastle are seeing the danger of having such a slender lead as Martin Dubravka pulls off a great save to deny Oliver Rathbone's decent striker from distance.

The League One side are growing in confidence.

  7. CLOSE!published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Birmingham 1-0 Blackburn

Oh, what a chance this is!

It's a long ball forward which Sam Gallagher lets bounce before he swivels and smashes it on the half volley.

It flies INCHES wide of the left post. That would have been some goal!

Think everyone expected Joelinton to hit the ground running at Newcastle but doesn't seem to be working out for him. Be interesting to see if Newcastle look to sell this month and bring a proven goal scorer in

Darragh Lenihan's defensive header isn't great and Alvaro Gimenez almost capitalises but can't quite get it under control.

Straight up the other end, Adam Armstrong drives through the centre and drills a powerful effort over the bar.

Good build up play by Millwall as Jayson Molumby sprays a ball out to Jason McCarthy, who in turn finds Connor Mahoney but his cross is a disappointing one.

GOAL - Burnley 4-1 Peterboroughpublished at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2020

    Jay Rodriguez (52 mins)

Ohhh, Peterborough started so well but this is clinical.

Aaron Lennon slips it into Jay Rodriguez in the box and he slots it under the keeper. VAR reviews it quickly for offside but no chance that is getting ruled out.
