    Should be three.

Excellent football from Bournemouth, you can see what a difference Ryan Fraser makes when he is on his game.

The Scot slips a pass through to Philip Billing, who cuts the ball back for Callum Wilson six yards out, but the Cherries striker screws horribly wide.

So, Jefferson Lerma moves back to nine yellow cards for the season - but will now serve a suspension for his red card. And when he gets back, he'll still be one caution away from a two-match ban.

The Bournemouth coaching staff are not happy - the two JTs (Cherries assistant manager Jason Tindall and his Villa opposite number John Terry) exchange a few words in the technical area.

For now, the hosts have gone 4-4-1 with Callum Wilson facing a long shift as the lone striker - while Villa are preparing to bring on Keinan Davis.

    Bournemouth 2-0 Aston Villa

Villa almost pull a goal back but Bjorn Engels beats Adam Ramsdale to the ball and loops a header onto the roof of the net.

Engels is taken out by Ramsdale, who punches him on his face.

Let me repeat that, Engels is taken out by Ramsdale, who punches him on his face.

VAR checks it but sees nothing wrong with the challenge.

Unbelievable decision, what are the officials playing at??

  8. RED CARD TO BOURNEMOUTHpublished at 50 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Aston Villa

Jefferson Lerma was walking a tightrope and slips off, he is off for an early bath.

The ill-disciplined Bournemouth midfielder blocks off Jack Grealish deep in his own half and referee Anthony Taylor brandishes a second yellow card and then the red.

It may seem harsh, but you cannot afford to do that when on a booking.

Arguably one of Bournemouth’s best 45 minutes of the season. A bit of a blast from the past; this is the sort of performance they used to produce quite regularly at the Vitality Stadium.

Intensity and desire was there from the very start from Eddie Howe‘s team.

Jack Grealish has been typically excellent, but Villa need more than just him to step up in the second-half.

Villa's players looked stunned after conceding that goal. Meanwhile, visiting manager Dean Smith had a loud word or two in the direction of assistant referee Gary Beswick on the near side during that VAR check - even though the play was up the other end of the field from Beswick.

Bournemouth in control, Villa in allsorts of trouble.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 45+1 mins

    Bournemouth 2-0 Aston Villa

Oh, Villa needed to convert this.

The visitors almost pull a goal back on the stroke of half-time.

Of course, it is Jack Grealish who comes close to getting it, creating the chance for himself with stunning footwork but his low drive from the angle is brilliantly diverted away from goal by Adam Ramsdale's sharp reflexes.

A big goal followed up by an even bigger save.

  16. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 2-0 Aston Villapublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2020

    Nathan Ake (44 mins)

    BIG goal.

Bournemouth double their lead, two goals in the space of six minutes.

Harry Wilson's initial free-kick is poor, straight into the wall and Ryan Fraser follows up with a low drive which Pepe Reina makes a hash of.

The Spaniard spills it back into the centre of the goal and Nathan Ake is on hand to stretch a leg out and convert a low finish into the bottom corner.

VAR has a check, but the Dutchman is clearly onside.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 43 mins

    Bournemouth 1-0 Aston Villa

Bournemouth on the counter, causes Villa huge issues.

Douglas Luiz resorts to bringing down Jefferson Lerma on the edge of the box and is booked.

Why is the Villa man complaining??

I'm worried that if Jack Grealish stretches a little too much, it could cause some damage to those tighttt shorts.

There were a few nerves among the home fans before that goal as Villa grew into the game, but Philip Billing's strike has predictably cranked up the volume from the Cherries faithful.

And Dan Gosling, having auditioned for the Six Nations rugby earlier by kicking the ball over the crossbar, has a headed assist on his 30th birthday.

    A huge turnaround.
