  4. Post update

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

No surprises on Uefa's star of the match.

"In 2016 we didn't start well. We have a really good squad with a lot of potential. You could see it today with two guys who came off the bench and scored so that was very important for us."

  8. 'Quality of three or four players made difference'

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

    Rob Green

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Austria manager celebrates like they've won the tournament. It's a big win for them obviously. When North Macedonia did score you think this could be game on but just the quality of three or four players made the difference and they'll take confidence from the result, maybe not the performance.

It was a good game. It was good in terms of the tension, there was goals. In terms of teams sending out a message or a statement, I don't think many other teams will look around and be worried by the teams involved in this game.

  9. Post update

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

Former England defender Ashley Cole speaking on ITV: "Austria have important players like David Alaba and they were able to push them forward into areas where they could be more effective.

"When the ball is on Alaba's left foot, North Macedonia's defensive line has to get over to block space and danger. Austria changed their angle of attack."

  12. FULL-TIME

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

It's all over in Bucharest. A really entertaining game as Austria get their first ever win at a European Championship.

It was a wonderful effort from Euros debutants North Macedonia but they just fell short in the end.

  13. SUBSTITUTION

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

Stefan Ilsanker is on for Austria. Doubt he gets a touch.

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

    Rob Green

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Arnautovic

Cool, composed finish from Arnautovic. He got fortunate with how the ball dropped to him. Tired defence from North Macedonia coming through. The ball just bounced to him, cool as you like, took as many touches to get around the goalkeeper. He knew he had the time, knew he had the presence of mind to go around the goalkeeper and slot it into the net. Just the physical presence of himself got the opportunity and the quality of himself got the goal. It sums up the game that in his celebration he turns to one of the Macedonia players and rows with him.

  17. Post update

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

It was a strangely intense celebration from Marko Arnautovic to that goal.

  18. Post update

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

Austria are the first side to have two different substitute scorers in a game at the Euros since Belgium in 2016 (v Hungary).

It's a less good stat when you realise there have only been six games since that tournament...

  19. INJURY TIME

    Austria 3-1 North Macedonia

Four minutes added on as Austria push for a fourth.
