'A joy to watch going forward'
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
The attacking talent of the better nations against this Dutch defence would exploit these holes they are leaving as they are all over the place.
However, they are a joy to watch going forward, acting on instinct and creating chances.
'Austria have been hopeless'
HT: Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One
I think the Netherlands are in third gear, they definitely have another gear or two to go. Austria have been hopeless - they have to come out and do a lot better than that, they're holding such a high line and getting punished every time.
There is so much space in behind those three defenders.

Memphis Depay had five of the Netherlands' six efforts at goal in the first half...

HT: Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Here's that big miss from Memphis Depay that should have made it 2-0 to the Netherlands.
'Good first half'
HT: Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham midfielder on BBC One
I think the Netherlands have been brilliant but they will be disappointed they didn't get the extra goals.
David Alaba has had a tough 45 minutes - it will be a stern talking to for his team-mates and maybe a change of formation that could possibly get them back into this game, but it's been a good first half.

HT: Netherlands 1-0 Austria
As a neutral, I prefered it when the Netherlands went Brendan Rodgers 2014 in their opening match and just tried to outscore Ukraine rather than focus on being organised at the back. It was far more entertaining!
But they are as comfortable as anything right now. They could and probably should be two or three nil up.
HALF-TIME
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
The Dutch are in front. Austria need to change something.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Austria are trying to muster up an attack before the break but they just can't get the ball down in midfield.
It's back with Daley Blind after a few minutes.

Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham midfielder on BBC One
That Memphis Depay chance - it sits up like a dream, just hit it! Wout Weghorst picks out a lovely pass to Depay who has to stick it away but a true striker would hit that on the volley. It couldn't have been set up any better. There are certain passes that sit up and are just ready to be hit, and that was one of them.

Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
That's two clear-cut chances now for this Netherlands side.
I think Frank de Boer will be frustrated going into the break because this game could be finished off.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
That missed chance from Memphis Depay just then came after he struck into the side-netting earlier.
Here's that chance again.
CLOSE!
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Another big chance for the Netherlands!
Patrick van Aanholt is involved again as he lays it off to Georginio Wijnaldum in the box.
He tries to pass it into the net but it's a decent block by an Austrian defender just in front of the goalkeeper.
CLOSE!
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
HOW?
No, no, noooo. Memphis Depay should make it 2-0!
It's floated over the top for Wout Weghorst by Patrick van Aanholt. He should hit it on the half-volley first time but he lays it off to Depay.
He's a few yards out and he slices it!
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Daley Blind lays it off to Georginio Wijnaldum and gets clattered into by Michael Gregoritsch on a follow-through.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live
The Dutch defence are going man-to-man and leaving huge holes in behind, but there needs to be a third man in an Austria shirt to run into them. It's just not happening at the moment.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Despite right wing-back Denzel Dumfries winning the penalty, most of the Netherlands' play has actually come down their left so far in the first half, as has Austria's.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Tottenham midfielder on BBC One
Austria are having to work so hard to get a yard of space to be able to get their head up and find anybody with any real quality and even when they do it's just a sea of orange shirts everywhere.
They've got very little options for the man on the ball.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
We need another goal.
The Netherlands have taken their foot off the gas and they're comfortable.
Austria can't create anything of any real danger.
Post update
Netherlands 1-0 Austria
Martin Hinteregger fancies a go from long range and he hits it nicely enough but it's always rising.
It flies over the bar and doesn't cause any problems.

Willem Mevius: Austria don't seem to realise that the Dutch are vulnerable at the back. They need to press higher up: sure you might get stung by one of their lethal attacks, but what have they got to lose?
