The Netherlands have won their last six matches against Austria.

Austria's last victory came in May 1990 - a pre-World Cup friendly in Vienna.

Their only previous encounter at a major tournament was in the second group phase of the 1978 World Cup. The Netherlands won 5-1 on their way to that year's final.

Austria have scored in all eight games against the Netherlands on Dutch soil. However, they have gone on to win just one of those matches - a 1-0 victory in their first-ever meeting in 1933.

Memphis Depay needs to feel like the number one guy, in this Netherlands team he feels like the number one. He wants to be a star - to do that he has to produce. He scores goals, he takes the responsibility through the middle, he has an array of finishing. There's no doubt this kid is a talent.

Like him or not, he can finish, he can score with both feet, he doesn't like to be pinned down to one position he likes to be able to move and flow and feel the game. He will have a good tournament I think.

Former Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reckons they have enough in attack but they might struggle in defence during the tournament.

Memphis Depay will be keen to make an impression today.

He failed to score or assist for the first time in seven matches for the Netherlands against Ukraine.

He has been directly involved in 48 goals in 65 appearances for his country (26 goals, 22 assists) - that's 21 more than any other player since making his debut in October 2013.

Both of these sides are in a strong position after winning their opener. Austria would be happy with a point but the fact this game is in Amsterdam means I have to go with the Dutch, despite them looking a bit flaky at the back.

The big team news from the Dutch camp is that centre-back Matthijs de Ligt returns from a groin injury in their only change.

It means teenager Jurrien Timber, who stood in for him in the victory against Ukraine, drops to the bench.

Michael Gregoritsch, who came off the bench to score in the win over North Macedonia, replaces Sasa Kalajdzic.

Defender Stefan Lainer starts but is one booking away from missing the next match.
