Austria have started well, they're in the ascendancy. They've started on the front foot with great intent.

    North Macedonia 0-0 Netherlands

Goran Pandev is getting stuck in. It's been a decent start by Group C's bottom team. Just the one attempt by the Netherlands so far, who are continuing with their new 5-3-2 tactics.

    Ukraine 0-0 Austria

Austria are doing all the attacking so far. They need to win this, of course, and they're playing accordingly so far.

Throwback. We've got the 2016 Icelandic clap ringing around Romania's National Arena!

Austria win an early corner, but it's eventually scrambled clear by Ukraine for another set-piece - and the opportunity is ended as the referee blows for a foul.

Lovely touch from Georginio Wijnaldum, who presents Goran Pandev with a Netherlands shirt with 122 on it - the number of caps he has won. This is Pandev's last appearance for North Macedonia.

Helped by a reputation formed while starring, most notably, with AC Milan, where he was named the world's best player in 2004, respect was never going to be a problem for Andriy Shevchenko.

In his inaugural press conference in the Ukraine job, he talked of wanting to change the playing style, moving away from counter-attacking and trying to take control of matches.

Just as important as his tactical input has been the psychological impact he has had.

"He and his staff changed the mentality in the team," says journalist Volodymyr Zverov.

"They try to explain to the players that they can compete with the very best. And it works. For example, Vitaly Mykolenko, a left-back at Dynamo Kyiv, completely ate Cristiano Ronaldo when they drew 0-0 with Portugal in qualifying."

North Macedonia won two of their opening three World Cup qualifiers, including a stunning 2-1 away victory against Germany in March.

But they have been unable to replicate that form at the Euro 2020.

They showed glimpses of it against Austria and Ukraine, and coach Igor Angelovski is upbeat ahead of the clash with the Netherlands.

"The Dutch are the absolute favourites but we have to reproduce the good things we did against Ukraine and go out there believing we can get a result," he said.

"The Netherlands are the kind of team which should bring out the best in us."

  19. Arnautovic returns for 'final'published at 16:41 British Summer Time 21 June 2021

    Ukraine v Austria (17:00 BST)

    Austria

Austria striker Marko Arnautovic returns to the squad following his suspension for insulting another player in his side's opening win over North Macedonia.

The Shanghai Port forward, formerly of West Ham, scored late on in his side's opening 3-1 win but had to be restrained by team-mate David Alaba during his celebration.

"We have it in our hands to reach the round of 16. Marko Arnautovic will be back for our final against Ukraine. We will be ready," Austria boss Franco Foda said.

    Ukraine

Ukraine bounced back from their opening defeat by the Netherlands at Euro 2020 with a victory over North Macedonia that leaves their fate in their own hands. Austria's 2-0 loss to the Netherlands means Andriy Shevchenko's side begin today's decider above Franco Foda's outfit on goals scored.
