  1. The end for Wales, just the beginning for Denmark?published at 19:30 British Summer Time 26 June 2021

    FT: Wales 0-4 Denmark

So that's it from us for this game and in terms of live pages emanating from Wales, that's sadly it for us for Euro 2020.

Of course, Wales can reflect on a good tournament, they weren't expected to get out of their group, but they were simply blown away today by a sensational Denmark side.

What can you say about Denmark? They are reeling from Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest in their first match, they were pointless heading into their final group game and now here they are, the first team into the last eight. What a journey they are on.

They are doing Christian Eriksen proud.

At least Wales fans can now join the rest of the world in supporting the Danes at Euro 2020.

Thanks for following along with us and don't go anywhere, because our friends in Salford are picking up the baton now for Italy v Austria.

I think and I hope this is the tournament before the tournament for Wales' youngsters to find their feet.

Getting out the group is an excellent achievement.

Now to see them exposed to Italy and Denmark, they've got more caps, what happens next?

I think the World Cup qualification will become a huge target for this group of players. They'll get over the disappointment of tonight and use the World Cup qualifying to galvanise us. We haven't done it for so long.

Other than the first ten minutes Wales weren't really a threat at all.

Christensen nullified Ramsey and Denmark deserved the win.

Wales looked a little bit tired but no excuses Denmark were by far the better team.

Arguably Christensen was man of the match today.

For a centre half by nature to move into midfield today and be comfortable in possession, he's having a great summer.

Fair play to him, the manager has asked him to do something a little bit different and he was brilliant.

  10. 'Not how we wanted the game to go' - Balepublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 26 June 2021

    FT: Wales 0-4 Denmark

Wales captain Gareth Bale said: "It's not how we wanted the game to go, from our point of view we started very well and then the game changed.

"We tried to play in the second half but made a mistake to concede which killed the momentum on our side.

"To finish how we did is disappointed but the boys are frustrated and angry understandably, I'd prefer us to go out that way.

"If you play the ball through the back of someone it's a foul, I felt the ref was influenced by the supporters here.

    "It's disappointing that's all I can say.

"We've missed an opportunity but I can't fault the effort and that's the minimum requirement, I'm proud of them still."

  12. Bale future, we are no clearerpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 26 June 2021

    FT: Wales 0-4 Denmark

BBC Sport touchline reporter Carl Roberts just tried to ask Gareth Bale about his future.

By the time he had finished his question, Bale had exited, stage right.

So we are none the wiser.

Has Gareth Bale played his last game for Wales? Has Gareth Bale played his last game, full stop?

Mark Hughes says he will be disappointed if Bale decides to retire.

"He's no age," he said. "I played until I was nearly 38."

Ashley Williams reminds us that the 2022 World Cup is only 18 months away.

We needed to play at the best level we could today, we weren't able to do it. We were up against an accomplished side. Maybe just that emotional boost but tactically Denmark understood what they needed to do. After the initial salvo from Wales they didn't make any real impression whatsoever.

There will be massive learnings from the group. Qualifying for a second major tournament. This was a phenomenal performance from Denmark and ultimately a disappointment for Wales in the end.

    FT: Wales 0-4 Denmark

    Nathan Blake
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Apart from the start of the first half, this Denmark team looked so well drilled, played really good football and kept possession. If you've not got possession then you can't score goals

Once the first goal went in it was an uphill task, but after that second goal at the start of the second half, it was a bit of a nightmare for Wales. It was an easy finish for Denmark.

Then the fourth goal just wiped out the game. Wales lost their shape, lost their head and they couldn't get back into the game.

It's Denmark's day, man for man they were better.

I didn't expect us to get through the group stages, the big surprise was how poor we made Turkey look.

It was a disappointment in the end, the way we reacted in the end, maybe a lack of leadership?

  20. FULL-TIME - Wales 0-4 Denmarkpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 26 June 2021

Wales have been absolutely hammered in Amsterdam.

Denmark's amazing story goes on. It really does feel like 1992 for them.

For Wales, it's a horrible way to go out, their worst performance in sometime.

Stick with us, we've got loads more to bring you.
