Ben Davies will never have been happier to have a phone call with Christian Eriksen, even if it ended with some gentle teasing.

The Wales defender and Denmark midfielder are close friends from their time together at Tottenham Hotspur. So when Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the pitch during Denmark's opening match of Euro 2020, the shock for Davies was particularly profound.

Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand makes two changes to the team which beat Russia 4-1 in their final group game in Copenhagen.

Jens Stryger Larsen replaces right wing-back Daniel Wass and Kasper Dolberg comes in for Yusuff Poulsen in attack. Wass and Poulsen appear to be injured because neither are in the match-day squad.

Wales interim manager Robert Page makes three changes from last Sunday’s 1-0 group-stage defeat against Italy.

Defenders Chris Mepham and Ben Davies as well as striker Kieffer Moore, all benched against Italy to avoid a second yellow card of the tournament and a suspension, are all recalled.

They return in place of Chris Gunter, Neco Williams and Ethan Ampadu, who is banned after his red card in Rome.

Those changes see Wales revert to the 4-2-3-1 formation they used in the draw with Switzerland and victory over Turkey.

Wales: Ward; C. Roberts, Mepham, Rodon, B. Davies; Allen, Morrell; Bale, Ramsey, James; Moore.

Wales defender Connor Roberts says "99% of the world" will be supporting Denmark for their Euro 2020 last-16 tie in Amsterdam today.

Denmark have provided the uplifting story of the tournament, inspired by midfielder Christian Eriksen and his recovery from a cardiac arrest.

Although Wales are underdogs for the game, Swansea full-back Roberts expects neutrals to back the Danes.

"It's going to be really tough but hopefully we can [win]," he said.

"I think 99% of the world are going to be supporting Denmark.

It's been a cracking Euros so far and now we have reached the knockout stages, it's time for the remaining 16 nations to go big or go home.
