That's just pure energy and organisation and wanting to win this game. Holes was on the front foot, the ball is bouncing in favour of the Netherlands. He got there first, nudged it past him. He pulled it back for the big centre forward who was coming in on his left foot and slotted it past the keeper. Thank you very much, near post finish. Really good play that. And there's three other white shirts in there as well! Energy. They deserve it.

The Dutch snuck on a couple of subs straight after that goal - I'll find out who.

I think we can start planning for a Denmark v Czech Republic quarter-final.

The Dutch fail to deal with a long Tomas Vaclik kick. Tomas Holes gets the ball and runs into the box. He pulls it back for Patrik Schick, who tucks the ball into the bottom corner with a first-time finish from eight yards.

The Netherlands have only won one of their previous six matches under Frank de Boer when conceding first (D3 L2), a 2-1 win at Poland last November.

There's a long delay for an injury to Tomas Kalas, who landed awkwardly in an aerial challenge. He's OK though.
