'Tough nut to crack'
FT: Italy 1-1 Spain (Italy win 4-2 on pens)
Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One
I fancied the Italians before the game. They have character and toughness. The way Roberto Mancini has turned their fortunes around, they have been a credit. They are going to be a tough nut to crack in the final.

Italy into Euro 2020 final
There's celebrations in the stands and on the pitch for those in blue as Italy move a step closer to a first European Championship win since 1968.
Spain were the better side for large periods of the game and a bit more quality in the final third they could have been out of sight way before full time but Italy had the quality on the counter and the coolness in the shootout, personified by the sheer calmness of Jorginho's high pressure spot kick.
'A fantastic moment'

Its just wonderful scenes.
You have to feel bad for Spain they played a great match. They were probably the better side over 120 minutes even if it finished 1-1.
But seeing the Italians going to the final after what they have been through. It is amazing their story, the story of Roberto Mancini and this team. It is a fantastic moment.
'Amazing scenes'

Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Amazing scenes from the Italian bench absolutely mobbing Jorginho. What a penalty to close the semi-final out. The keeper has to move, no chance for the keeper, the coolest penalty of the night and the Italians go absolutely mental on the pitch and in the stands.

What a game! What. A. Game.
Quality, tension, tempo and drama in the penalty shootout.
A horrible way for Spain to lose and in particular you have to feel for Alvaro Morata, his cool strike had given them hope but then missed a penalty in the shootout.

GOAL - Jorginho - Italy win 4-2 on penalties
Italy 4-2 Spain
Oh that is unreal from Jorginho.
The pressure penalty, he runs up, takes a skip and nonchalantly passes the ball into the corner.
Unai Simon had no chance.
MISSED PENALTY - Álvaro Morata
Italy 3-2 Spain
Oh dear.
It's a poor penalty from Alvaro Morata, really tame effort and Gianluigi Donnarumma dives the right way to save.
GOAL - Federico Bernardeschi
Italy 3-2 Spain
Best of the lot so far.
Federico Bernardeschi smacks it left-footed into the top corner.
GOAL - Thiago
Italy 2-2 Spain
What a cool penalty that is from the Liverpool man, one step and into the bottom corner.
GOAL - Leonardo Bonucci
Italy 2-1 Spain
Lovely penalty from defender Leonardo Bonucci, opening up his body and sending Unai Simon the wrong way.
GOAL - Gerard Moreno
Italy 1-1 Spain
A little stutter from Gerard Moreno but it is high into the roof of the net, past the reach of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
GOAL - Andrea Belotti
Italy 1-0 Spain
Finally off the mark.
Excellent penalty by Andrea Belotti, smashing it into the bottom corner.
MISSED PENALTY - Dani Olmo
Italy 0-0 Spain
Blazed over the crossbar by Dani Olmo!
The ball is still travelling.
