Spain look good every time they get the ball, the front three look really good going forward. Italy have more or less been camped in their own half soaking up the pressure. They haven't changed the way they've played all game, they're waiting for that one moment and they haven't had it yet.

One of the hardest things in extra time is trying to find the courage as well as the energy to go and try and win the game, because you always risk losing it by committing men forward.

Marcos Llorente zips in a dangerous ball from the right but Leonardo Bonucci gets in the way of it before the whistle goes for half time in extra time.

There's not been the same level of quality as in normal time but the tension remains. Fifteen more minutes to go before the lottery of penalties for a place in a European Championship final.

Spain continue to show the attacking initiative in this first period of extra time as Gianluigi Donnarumma punches the ball from the top of Álvaro Morata's head, the loose ball then falls to Marcos Llorente but his shot is blocked.

It's getting spikey in the middle of the park, there's a lot at stake. Players are flying into tackles, mis-timing tackles, fatigue is starting to set in as well.

It feels like Italy are quite content to let this game tick towards penalties. They are disrupting play more and not showing much intent to attack themselves.

I don't know if he miss-hits that Olmo or it is a shot on goal. It comes off Chiellini and then it comes off Busquets.

What a chance this was. Spain have certainly fluffed a couple of decent opportunities in this game.

At the 90 minute mark in this game, Spain midfielder Pedri had attempted 56 passes...with a 100% completion.

The free kick into the box causes a bit of a panic as Dani Olmo and Alvaro Morata have shots blocked before it eventually deflects off Sergio Busquets and behind for an Italy goal kick.

Dani Olmo is body checked by Rafael Tolói after a clever turn of direction by the Spain forward. Toloi is booked and Spain have a free kick in a decent position...

If Italy are going to score you do feel it's going to come from a counter-attack because they're sitting in and trying to shut themselves down.

Gerard Moreno has been impressive since he has come on, sliding the balls through that Alvaro Morata has got on the end of at times.

Another rendition of 'Football's Coming Home' breaks out from a section of the crowd.

Now Andrea Belotti is down on the pitch holding his back. A bit of a stop-start to this first period of extra time.

I have not enjoyed a game of football as much as this in years, it is that good.

It has been absolutely brilliant, the quality, the intensity, the different styles.

A bit of a coming together between Domenico Berardi and Jordi Alba and the Spain man appears to have come off worse from that. He's down injured but eventually is up and OK to continue.

What a magnificent game of football, two sides going toe to toe. Spain have dominating possession and created chances, I was getting worried that it just wasn't going to come for them and Morata comes one and gets a great finish.
