  1. goal

GOAL Dundee Utd 2-2 Hibernianpublished at 74 mins

    Louis Appere

A wonderful turn takes Louis Appere away from Steven Whittaker and then the substitute strides forward and takes aim for the far corner with a low, curling shot.

There's not much pace on it, but the strike from 20 yards is so accurate that it evades the dive of Ofir Marciano.

  3. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

Martin Boyle has a run at the United defence and manages to thread a pass in behind, although I'm not sure it was quite what he intended, and it just won't run for Florian Kamberi, who was there just a fraction too early.

  4. 'Hibs need a third goal'published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2020

    Dundee United 1-2 Hibernian

    Quote Message

Hibs have been the dominant side, but Dundee United did nothing in the first half and one chance fell to Lawrence Shankland and they got a goal, so Hibs have to get a third and put distance between them and United.

Corner to Hibs. The ball breaks to Steven Whittaker on the edge of the box and he controls nicely with his chest before looping a left-foot volley well wide.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 65 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

It's getting a bit feisty. A series of hefty challenges ends with United skipper Calum Butcher upending Martin Boyle with what looks like a rugby tackle.

Kevin Clancy gets the yellow card out, indicating it is for persistent fouling.

  7. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

Dundee United shake up their attack, with Louis Appere taking over from Peter Pawlett, who has been pretty anonymous.

  8. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

Florian Kamberi has been full of beans today. The Hibs forward shimmies one way, then another, before picking out Scott Allan on the edge of the box. but the midfielder is off balance as he slams a shot high and wide.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 55 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

Christian Doidge sends a disappointing header wide from a good Lewis Stevenson cross but Hibs come again, with Florian Kamberi crashing in a powerful shot that Benjamin Siegrist gets two hands to at full-stretch. It's a very handy stop but the keeper forgets to push the ball away and only just manages to force the ball wide of the target.

  10. 'We're getting the band back together'published at 51 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

Ryan Porteous soldiers on for a few moments but he's done. It looks like a knee problem - and he has history there. Darren McGregor comes on to slot in beside Paul Hanlon in the Hibs central defence.

The average age of that back four has shot up in this second half, with the quartet all cup-winning legends from 2016.

  11. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernian

More defensive worries for Hibs as Ryan Porteous hobbles off. Darren McGregor is getting stripped but isn't needed just yet.

It's a fantastic finish from Martin Boyle but one of the centre-backs needs to step out and put him under some pressure.

GOAL Dundee Utd 1-2 Hibernianpublished at 47 mins

    Martin Boyle

Paul Hanlon needs to make a last-ditch tackle to deny Paul McMullan a shooting chance inside the Hibs penalty area then Florian Kamberi is off like a rocket, taking the ball up the other end of the park.

United stand off Martin Boyle and the in-form forward punishes that hesitancy by drilling in a cracking low shot from 22 yards.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Dundee Utd 1-1 Hibernian

We're off again. Hibs have changed right-backs, with the injured Jason Naismith unable to continue.

Club captain David Gray is on. He's got a decent cup record...

Well, how do you see this one going? Will Hibs come back out strong, or will United complete their comeback?

Thumbs up for a home win, thumbs down for an away win, and go for a cup of tea if you think it'll be a draw.

That's 25 games, 25 goals for Lawrence Shankland as a Dundee United player. In truth, he'd barely left a mark on the game until then, but his composed intervention denies Hibs what would have been a deserved interval lead.

What do we say about Shankland? He's hardly had any service whatsoever. It's about his strength, his power. He's composed, he shifts it to his left and he opens his body up and side-foots it in. It's so cultured. It just shows you the composure of the boy and the confidence he has at the moment that he didn't rush his only chance of the game.

  19. HALF-TIME Dundee Utd 1-1 Hibernianpublished at 45+3 mins

The home fans are delighted as the teams troop up the tunnel. United hadn't had a sniff at goal until that one opening for Lawrence Shankland.

Hibs will be stunned after dominating for long spells.

  20. goal

GOAL Dundee Utd 1-1 Hibernianpublished at 45+2 mins

    Lawrence Shankland

It had to be him... Lawrence Shankland keeps a cool head inside the penalty box to slide a shot past Ofir Marciano for his 25th United goal of the season after good work from Ian Harkes.
