Rangers again come close to breakig the deadlock at Ibrox as a free-kick on the left of the Ross County box leads to a stramash in front of Nathan Baxter's goal. The ball bobbles out to Scott Arfield, but his half-volley is deflected wide for a corner.

Greg Taylor pings in another great delivery from the left and Leigh Griffiths runs between two defenders to steer a lovely volley in at the near post.

It has been a fabulous display so far from Celtic. They have taken the game by the scruff of the neck and already seem certain for the three points.
Right from the off, the tempo has been high and chances have flowed. They should be further ahead.
It feels like a home game for the visitors with away fans almost filing three quarters of the stadium. That’s maybe not helping but the gap in quality is there for all to see.

Kristoffer Ajer slides into a crunching challenge with Liam Gordon and Leigh Griffiths is first to the loose ball inside the Saints' penalty area. He powers in a rising shot and Zander Gordon has to look lively to palm it away.
James Forrest
James Forrest likes these games at McDiarmid Park. He got four in one game here last season and now he's doubled the visitors' lead.
The winger is confronted by Scott Tanser on the right edge of the box and he touches the ball wide of the defender before smashing an angled shot into the opposite corner of the net.

The home side come close to opening the scoring at Ibrox as Ryan Kent runs down the left wing and fires a shot right at goal but Ross County keeper Nathan Baxter gets a strong hand to it and parries it away.

It's one-way traffic. Zander Clark is covered in mud already and we're not even 10 minutes in. This time the keeper is at full stretch as a shot from Callum McGregor fizzes inches wide.

Celtic are in the mood for a second goal as Zander Clark beats away a powerful shot from Greg Taylor and the follow-up from Leigh Griffiths is blocked by a defender in blue. Clark is busy again moments later, fending off a horrible slice from team-mate Liam Gordon.

It's mesmeric stuff from the visitors as a series of flicks and first-time passes culminates with James Forrest swinging in a delivery from the right and here comes Olivier Ntcham to power the ball home with a thumping header.
