That's five wins in eight for the upwardly mobile Latics.

Second-placed Leeds are now just one point behind the Baggies after they registered their fourth straight win with a 4-0 thumping of Hull in the early game, while third-placed Fulham are five points further back after they beat Preston 2-0.

In League One, leaders Rotherham were held to a 1-1 draw by MK Dons and League Two leaders Swindon had a good day by not even playing, as the teams who started the day in second, third and fourth all failed to win.

We'll be back with more EFL action on Sunday when Coventry look to go top of League One with victory over fellow promotion chasers Sunderland. That kicks off at 12:00 GMT.
