What a start for Leeds United! They've edged ahead in this Yorkshire derby.

Luke Ayling is the man to send the hosts in front as he volleys home from inside the box, with the ball cannoning off the bar and into the net.

That's not the start Huddersfield will have wanted.

It's a tradition but it's not happening today.

The Premier League and EFL have said pre-match handshakes between both teams and officials will not take place until further notice because of fears over the spread of coronavirus.

  6. Draw specialists Blues?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Birmingham v Reading (15:00 GMT)

Birmingham are unbeaten in their past 10 league games and will be looking to keep that run going, though their last four games have been draws.

Reading will leapfrog Blues in the table if they come away from St Andrew's with all three points.

It could well be a day for the in-form strikers of both sides with Blues' Scott Hogan scoring more Championship goals in February than any other player, while Royals front man George Puscas has been involved in four goals in his last four league appearances - with three goals and one assist.

  7. Tykes desperate to return to winning wayspublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Barnsley v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

Barnsley are five points from safety and they will desperately want to get back to winning ways after a three-game winning streak was ended by Reading in their last outing.

Cardiff are looking to avoid going five Championship games without a win for the first time since September 2016.

  8. And another huge game at the bottompublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Wigan v Luton (15:00 GMT)

What a turnaround it has been for Wigan. Three successive league wins, including last weekend's victory at leaders West Brom, have lifted the Latics two points clear of the drop zone.

They face bottom side Luton who have won three of their past five but, remain five points adrift of safety.

  9. Tigers need a winpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Stoke v Hull (15:00 GMT)

Another big game at the bottom as out-of-form Hull City travel to Stoke.

The Tigers are winless in their past 10 Championship fixtures since defeating Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day.

They sit 18th in the table and face a Stoke City side one point above the drop zone, who have won their past five home league games against them.

  10. Boro travel to fellow strugglers Charltonpublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Charlton v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

It's not looking good for Middlesbrough. Jonathan Woodgate's side find themselves without a victory in their past 10 Championship fixtures since winning 2-0 against Preston on New Year's Day.

They slipped into the bottom three last weekend, but will jump back above the safety line with a win at out-of-form Charlton.

The Addicks are just a point above Boro and have won just one of their last four in the Championship.

  11. Preston pushing for play-offspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Preston v QPR (15:00 GMT)

Preston remain in the top six after Bristol City's draw earlier and will hope to solidify that spot against QPR today.

They face a Rangers side who are looking to complete a league double over Preston for the first time since the 1967-68 season.

But Mark Warburton's team are winless in seven away league games, failing to score in each of the past three.

  12. Can Bees keep up play-off pace?published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

Brentford v Sheff Wed (15:00 BST)

Fifth-placed Brentford are winless in five Championship games and are badly in need of a victory.

They welcome a Sheffield Wednesday side who sit in 12th place and will be looking to bounce back after losing to Derby last weekend.

  13. Leeds look to continue Premier League pushpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Leeds v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

After Fulham's draw against Bristol City in our early game, it means Leeds could go seven points clear of third place.

They host a Huddersfield side who are just four points above the bottom three but have won their last two games in the Championship.

Ten matches to go, six at Elland Road for Leeds - they're closing in on the Premier League.

  14. Leaders looking to bounce backpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

Swansea v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

So then, today we'll see if West Bromwich's defeat by Wigan last time out was just a blip or the start of a downward slump.

The league leaders take on Swansea who, four points off the play-offs, could really do with a win if they want to target the top six.

Swansea have lost their past three league games against the Baggies, scoring twice and conceding 10 goals across those defeats.

  16. Swans can't fill their benchpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

Swansea v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

Swansea head coach Steve Cooper could do with having all his key players available for the visit of leaders West Brom, who have the best away record in the Championship.

But resources are so thin for the hosts that they have only six players on the bench this afternoon - and that is despite Andre Ayew shaking off a foot problem to start.

A bout of illness of overnight sees Jordon Garrick join Mike van der Hoorn, George Byers, Wayne Routledge and Bersant Celina in the treatment room, while on-loan Chelsea defender Marc Guehi cannot feature because there are five other loan players in Swansea's matchday squad.

Cooper would normally turn to the under-23 squad for reinforcements, but that is not an option either as a result of a recent mumps outbreak at Swansea's academy.

  17. Championship team newspublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

As I welcome Jay Freeman and Deepak Mahay to today's EFL live coverage, let's take a look ahead at our 15:00 GMT kick-offs.

Here's some of the headline team news...

    • Leeds United make one change with Gaetano Berardi replacing Kalvin Phillips as they face Huddersfield Town who name an unchanged line-up for today's Yorkshire derby.
    • Two changes to the West Bromwich Albion XI as Romaine Sawyers and Kyle Bartley return while Aldo Kalulu is back in the Swansea City starting line-up.
    • Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer makes three changes to his side as Ben Purrington, Darren Pratley and Jonny Williams return to face a Middlesbrough side who will hand a debut to keeper Dejan Stojanovic.
    • Jordan Thompson and Tyrese Campbell come into the Stoke City line-up with Sam Vokes on the bench as they prepare to face a Hull City side who make just the one change with Jackson Irvine returning and George Honeyman dropping down to the bench.
  18. Match reactionpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    FT: Bristol City 1-1 Fulham

Fulham goalscorer Tom Cairney tells Sky Sports: "We always have tough battles against Bristol City and we're frustrated not to get three points.

"It (the top two) is still there for us. Anything can happen in this league. It's a big month or two coming up and there are a lot of twists and turns yet."

Fulham's ex-Bristol City forward Bobby Reid: "I want to thank the fans for the great reception they gave me. We'll take the point and move on."

  19. Postpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    FT: Bristol City 1-1 Fulham

A draw will be accepted but, in truth, it's a result neither would have really wanted for their respective ambitions.

Bristol City are a point outside the top six, while Fulham are four points off the top two before today's other games.

  20. FULL-TIME: Bristol City 1-1 Fulhampublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Drama in the last minute!

Niki Maenpaa drops a cross at the feet of Fulham's Tom Cairney and they collide in the subsequent battle for the ball.

Fulham claim a penalty but it's waved away, and that's that.

    A point apiece.
