  1. Derby day in the EFLpublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

I'll preview today's 15:00 GMT kick-offs a little later, but it's noticeable that there are a few neighbouring clubs hoping to settle local scores today.

Huddersfield are at Leeds, Fleetwood host Blackpool, Grimsby have travelled to Scunthorpe in the ongoing game in League Two and Forest Green are playing a few miles up the road in Swindon.

I say this safe in the knowledge that I'm likely to get pelters from Colchester and Gillingham fans, who are travelling from one end of the country to the other today to watch their sides at Carlisle and Sunderland respectively.

Both sets of supporters will be doing round trips of more than 600 miles today. Ouch!

  2. Millwall beat Forest with Smith's first-half treblepublished at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

Friday result: Nottingham Forest 0-3 Millwall

Millwall started the EFL weekend with a bang, with Matt Smith's first-half hat-trick securing a 3-0 win for the Lions away at Nottingham Forest.

Forest's automatic promotion challenge has faltered in the past month, while Millwall are now just two points off a play-off spot.

    Here's the match report...

    Aleksandar MitrovicImage source, Rex

By the way, I can assure you that Aleksandar Mitrovic IS playing up front for Fulham today.

The Championship's leading scorer has been starved of service and has not been in the game at all, but that could all change in the second period.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2020

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

The first half ends with Bristol City's Nahki Wells sending a free-kick into the stand.

    Goalless at the break.

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Into three minutes of added time at the end of the first half and finally the game sparks to life!

Fulham's Bobby Decordova-Reid shoots powerfully from 15 yards and Niki Maenpaa flies to his left to push it to safety. Top save.

A bit of pinball in the box follows and Harry Arter sends a low shot from distance just wide of the post.

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Another spell of Fulham possession 30 yards from the Bristol City goal but no killer pass and no shot on goal.

Meanwhile, Fulham's Harry Arter has been booked for dissent.

Not a huge amount to report. I'd love to tell you that it's end to end and there are chances galore, but it's just not happening for either team in attack at the moment.

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Denis Odoi's handball on the edge of the box gives Bristol City a presentable opportunity from a free-kick.

    Can they take it?

    No.

Straight into the wall from Callum O'Dowda.

  9. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Half an hour in and still no goals at Ashton Gate in the Championship.

In League Two, Scunthorpe and Grimsby have just kicked off.

Now Aboubakar Kamara tries his luck for the visitors but his effort towards the near post is well off target, with better options in the middle.

  11. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Best chance of the game so far.

Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro sends over a peach of a cross from the left for Bobby Decordova-Reid, but the former City forward heads off target.

  12. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Bristol City break quickly from a Fulham corner and have a man over for a large part of their attack, but the cross from the right touchline doesn't find a red shirt.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Nathan Baker can't continue and is helped off the field by Bristol City's medical staff.

    Filip Benkovic is on.

  14. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Bristol City centre-back Nathan Baker appears to have taken a knock and is receiving some treatment after clearing Fulham's first corner of the match.

  15. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Fulham have had plenty of possession in the past five minutes or so, but their final ball has been lacking.

A reminder that Scott Parker's side started five points behind Leeds in the table.

  16. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

Andreas Weimann gets himself into space again and the Bristol City man's shot from 25 yards is easily saved by Marek Rodak, but it's an encouraging start for the hosts.

Nahki Wells gets his first sight of goal from Callum O'Dowda's cross for City. He can't get enough power on it, though, and it's easily claimed by the goalkeeper.

Just the one goal in red and white for Wells since his January move from Burnley.

  19. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Fulham

The first effort on goal comes from Fulham. Tom Cairney's long-range shot goes tamely wide.

This isn't the only early kick-off in the EFL today - Scunthorpe are playing Grimsby in a 13:00 GMT kick-off in League Two.

I'll bring you goal news from that game, along with the latest updates from Ashton Gate.

After some Fulham possession, a first chance for Bristol City to break with a ball over the top to Andreas Weimann, but the visitors deal with it fairly comfortably.
