With the title race all but over after another dramatic night of fluctuating fortunes, focus maybe will now turn to Rangers' continued woes in the coming days ahead of their trip north to play Ross County on Sunday.

Come Saturday, though, the spotlight will be on the race for third - and to avoid relegation.

Rejuvenated third-top Motherwell visit a Hearts side who suffered a blow without playing - dropping back to the bottom after Accies' win at Ibrox.

Aberdeen and Hibs square up at Pittodrie, while fifth-top Livingston visit St Johnstone.

Down at the bottom, Hamilton host mid-table Kilmarnock and St Mirren face a tough task away to leaders Celtic.

A very deflated Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has been speaking to the media in the last few minutes.

"I didn't think I could be more disappointed than I was after Hearts," he says. "But here I am, even more disappointed than I was a few days ago.

"I did lay down the gauntlet, I'll continue to do that. We've definitely got a dressing room that are shot of confidence. We've played ourselves into a rut. I've got a real tough job to pick that up and improve it from here.

"The dressing room is very quiet at the moment. Myself and my staff are flat because we're doing everything we can."

As mentioned earlier, that 0-0 draw between Arbroath and Dunfermline has nudged both up a place in the second tier, but both missed a chance to move above Dundee and into the promotion play-off spots.

Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson is willing to admit his side were beaten by a better Motherwell team that seemed determined to overcome a poor run of home form.

"We were against a very good Motherwell team," he tells BBC Scotland. "They were obviously hurting from the poor run they were on and they certainly put that right tonight with their performance. But we'll always just look at ourselves.

"It's the same team that did so well against Aberdeen aside from one change. All the things that we were doing well over the last couple of weeks just didn't happen for us tonight. So we'll need to take a good look at it and brush ourselves down."

Allan Campbell was undoubtedly the man of the match for Motherwell , with two goals and an assist to make short work of Ross County.

His manager, Stephen Robinson, is adamant that the 21-year-old midfielder has all the talent to do something similar for Steve Clark's Scotland.

"Other players have left early from our youth set up, but I think he is the epitome of Motherwell's youth academy," he tells BBC Scotland. "He has stayed, he has played and he's gained a massive amount of experience. He could be knocking on the door of a Scotland jersey soon if he keeps doing that.

"Steve knows the players as well as I do. He'll be well versed in all of our players. I know he likes Allan and if he keeps performing like that then I don't see any reason why not. He's certainly got the drive and ambition."

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer says he's annoyed his side didn't hold on for the win, having let a two-goal lead slip - just as they did against the same opponent a few weeks ago in the Scottish Cup.

"The team performance was very good in periods," he tells BBC Scotland. "We start very well, go two goals up and then we panic for the last 15 minutes of the first half and carry it on in the second half.

"But, when it goes back to 2-2, we started playing again. I'm very disappointed. Like last time, we had chances to win the game."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes doesn't agree with the decision to award Kilmarnock a penalty, which Eamonn Brophy converted, for handball for the opening goal.

"The first goal, for me, is not a penalty," he tells Sportsound. "It's hit Ash Taylor in the back. He's turned round and kept his hands and arms right in and I'm disappointed the referee has given a penalty for that.

"Then we lose a really poor second goal. We back off when we should come forward and deny the space and we got what we deserved in the instance."

On his side's comeback, McInnes describes Niall McGinn's goal as a "brilliant finish". "It's exactly what we needed at the time," he says. "I thought we started the second half brilliantly, it was all us. A brilliant goal from McLennan.

"It's a good point in the end after being two goals down."

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson is delighted to see his side pick up all three points against Ross County but is even happier with the manner in which they did it.

"I thought some of our football was outstanding," he tells BBC Scotland. "The fourth goal was magnificent. We thoroughly deserved it and looked back on track again. We had a real freshness about us again.

"Our midfield three were excellent. I thought Declan Gallagher was immense at the back again.

"Our performance warranted a 4-1 victory and it possibly could have been more."

The Rangers fans staged a minute's applause in the eighth minute, the manager's number as a player, of tonight's game to show their continued support for Steven Gerrard.

However, there will be a few more disgruntled voices after another dramatic defeat.

If the title race wasn't over before tonight, it surely is now after the Englishman's side slipped 13 points behind following that loss to a side that started the night bottom of the table.

They have played 12 domestic games since the winter break and have lost four of them.

Livingston's Gary Holt is just is pleased with his players as opposition boss Neil Lennon is with his.

"I am over the moon," the head coach tells BBC Scotland. "To a man, they were excellent and I couldn't have asked for more from them.

"They are disappointed, but I told them to lift their heads up because we are really proud of them.

"It is a great point. We could have won the game, but at the same time, we could have lost it."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is full of praise for his side despite being held to a draw by Livingston.

"I thought we were outstanding," he tells BBC Scotland. "We absolutely battered them in the second half and a draw was the least we deserved.

"We were totally dominant, although we lost two sloppy goals.

"The response from the team was everything we expected of them. Some of the speed of the play was breathtaking. They are a magnificent group of players."

Lennon reveals he did not hear that Rangers were losing until the final whistle.

"Sometimes you get what you deserve," he adds. "But we are never going to take anything for granted."

What a topsy-turvy night, ending with Celtic extending their lead at the top of the Premiership to 13 points despite being held to a draw away to Livingston.

That's because Rangers' post-winter break domestic implosion continued as they were stunned at home to Hamilton, who started the night foot of the table.

Arbroath and Dunfermline squander a chance to move into the promotion play-off places with a dull draw in which the visitors missed the two chances either created.

Both move above Morton, with the Pars ahead on goal difference, but are two points behind fourth-top Dundee.

A double blow for St Mirren as they are held at home by 10-man St Johnstone as Hamilton's shock win at Ibrox means Accies move to within two points of the third-bottom Paisley side.

The visiting Saints will be happy to move further clear of relegation trouble considering they had Liam Craig sent off.

Livingston deserve huge respect for another massive performance against Celtic.

Another nightmare at the Toni Macaroni Arena for Christopher Jullien, with Lyndon Dykes the Celtic centre-half's tormentor in chief and setting up Scott Robinson for what looked like it would be a winning goal.

Celtic looked like they would have what it takes in the early stages to make amends for the defeat in October, Callum McGregor lashing home a beauty to make it 1-0.

But goalkeeper Fraser Forster’s mistake allowed Jon Guthrie to equalise, before Livi roared into the lead.

However, credit is due to Celtic for digging this out and, on balance of chance,s they certainly deserved something from this match as Tom Rogic rescued a point.

A stunning win for Hamilton at Ibrox that lifts them off the bottom of the table. They take the plaudits after a resolute and determined performance with goalscorer David Moyo and keeper Luke Southwood the heroes for the small band of travelling fans.

Another night of frustration for Rangers, whose domestic season has unraveled over the past few weeks. Out of the Scottish Cup and now 13 points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.

Motherwell pick up their first home victory since 7 December with an outstanding comeback.

Liam Fontaine gave County the lead a few minutes in to the match, yet Ross Country struggled to do anything else as Motherwell slowly but surely wrestled control of the match.

Mark O'Hara equalised with a short-range rebound from the corner early on in the first half and Allan Campbell made it two for Motherwell with a wonderful, well-placed volley.

Campbell was once again on hand to ensure all three points when he tapped home his second and Motherwell's third with a tap in 15 minutes from time before Tony Watt came on and picked up a fourth with a late finish outside the box.

Stephen Robinson's side move three points clear of Aberdeen in fourth, while County stay put in ninth.
