    Liam Fontaine

The first corner of the game is swung in from the right and despite looking like a tepid attempt in to the box Liam Fontaine runs to the front post and flings a leg at it. He may not have meant it but it turns in to a tremendous finish and a terrible start for the hosts.

  7. Billy, a Chelsea hero - and for Scotland?published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

The glowing plaudits have been flowing for former Rangers youth Billy Gilmour after his performance in Chelsea's FA Cup win over Liverpool last night.

BBC pundit Pat Nevin knows all about what it's like to move to Stamford Bridge as a teenager, having done so from Clyde, and he is tipping the 18-year-old to follow his example by making the step up soon to the Scotland squad.

Should he be called up for this month's Euro 2020 play-off semi-final against Israel and the possible final against Serbia or Norway despite central midfield being where Steve Clarke has most strength in depth? Click thumbs up for "yes", thumbs down for "no".

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer says Mohamed El Makrini is injured and will be out for "a few weeks".

On tonight's game and their poor record against Aberdeen, Dyer said: "I hope it changes tonight. It's not for the want of trying, the boys always work hard. It's just unfortunate, especially the last game, that we didn't get the results. Hopefully tonight, we'll put it right."

  9. Ideal conditions in Paisley - Goodwinpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

St Mirren v St Johnstone (19:45)

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin says he wants to see an improved performance from his side after last weekend's cup exit at the hands of Aberdeen.

"The conditions are great, nice and fresh, little bit chilly but no wind and no rain," he says.

"One change – Ross Wallace gives us a bit of experience in midfield. In the last number of weeks we’ve been very open in the middle of the park – Ross has played in that holding role for Fleetwood and I think we need a bit of that discipline in there.

"I was really disappointed on Saturday - it was a really good opportunity. I didn’t think we played terribly but the problem was we didn’t create enough chances and that’s the reason we went out."

  10. County go Well at Fir Parkpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Motherwell v Ross County (19:45)

Motherwell somehow remain third in the Premiership despite having gone seven games without a win in all competitions.

Stephen Robinson's side have lost three in a row at home and are without a win in their last six outings at Fir Park.

Ross County ended their run of five away losses in a row - and 16 without a win on the road - with Saturday's 2-1 success in Aberdeen and are now seven points clear of the relegation play-off place.

They also won by the same scoreline on their last two visits to Fir Park - the latest in September - but also lost 2-1 in the reverse fixture in December.

  11. Accies ideal for Rangers?published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Rangers v Hamilton Academical (19:45)

Rangers are looking to recover from a draw away to St Johnstone and a Scottish Cup defeat by Hearts on Saturday that all but ended their hopes of silverware this season.

However, Steven Gerrard's side remain without defeat at home in 17 games wince Celtic came calling in September and will hope to recapture the form that secured progress to the Europa League last 16 in between those two latest disappointments.

Gerrard insists that, despite reports suggesting otherwise, his "serious thinking" after the Tynecastle defeat did not boil down to him considering his future with the club and he couldn't have asked for better opposition than Hamilton as he looks to lift the gloom at Ibrox.

After Hearts' Edinburgh derby win last night, Accies have slipped to the foot of the table and, although they have drawn their last two on the road, have gone eight games without a victory.

Indeed, Brian Rice's side have conceded 17 goals and scored one in their latest four meetings with Rangers and have lost seven in a row against the Glasgow side since a shock 2-0 win at Ibrox in November 2017.

  12. Saints praying for survivalpublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

St Mirren v St Johnstone (19:45)

Hearts' win at Easter Road last night means St Mirren, only now three points ahead, are back in the relegation frame despite only two defeats in their last eight outings.

That's largely because only one league victory was accumulated during that period and they've gone four at home without a win.

St Johnstone have established a 10-point lead over second-bottom Hearts following a run of six games without defeat, including three on the road, that ended with Sunday's narrow Scottish Cup loss at home to Celtic.

However, although they have only lost one of their latest eight meetings with St Mirren, that came in their last visit in October and the Buddies are unbeaten in their last three head-to-heads.

  13. Cosgrove missing with back problempublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes confirms top-scorer Sam Cosgrove is missing from the squad tonight because he pulled up in training with a stiff back on Monday and they have chosen not to risk him.

"We're hoping we can work with the physios and be ready for Hibs at the weekend," McInnes tells BBC Scotland.

On his team's excellent record against Kilmarnock, McInnes added: "It doesn't give you any certainty or any guarantees. The last couple of years with Steve [Clarke] and now Alex [Dyer] that the games against them are that bit tougher. But we've still managed to get positive results here."

  14. Head-to-head for two winning runspublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Livingston v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic arrive at Tony Macaroni Arena with a score to settle, even if captain Scott Brown insists tonight's game is "not about revenge". It is the only domestic venue, apart from Celtic Park, where they have lost this season.

Indeed, since that 2-0 league defeat in October, Neil Lennon's side have won 13 domestic games in a row away from home.

Overall, Celtic are unbeaten in 10 away from home since a 2-0 loss to Cluj in a Europa League dead rubber in December.

Celtic followed up that October defeat at Livingston with a 4-0 defeat of the West Lothian side a month later in Glasgow to end a run of three games against tonight's hosts without a win.

However, while Gary Holt's side have only won one of their latest five outings, they are a different proposition at Almondvale, where they have won seven in a row and are unbeaten in eight since losing to Rangers in November.

  15. Dons hold Indian sign over Killiepublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (19:45)

Aberdeen make a quick return to a happy hunting ground following last month's thrilling 4-3 Scottish Cup replay win, when two goals deep into stoppage time turned the tie in the visitors' favour.

That extended the Dons' run to 16 games at Rugby Park without defeat since December 2011.

Overall, Derek McInnes' side are unbeaten in seven meetings with the Ayrshire outfit since a 2-0 home defeat in September 2018, when Killie recorded their only win in their last 24 league meetings.

On top of that, Aberdeen are unbeaten in six games away from home, winning their latest three.

Meanwhile, Alex Dyer's hosts are three games without a win, two of them at home.

  16. It’s as tough as they come - Lennonpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Livingston v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic will be looking for a staggering 15th straight away win in domestic competition tonight at Livingston, but manager Neil Lennon knows they have a tough job on their hands to take three points away from a venue they have suffered their only away domestic defeat at all season.

"It’s as tough as they come in terms of away venues, he tells BBC Scotland. "We are going to have to be at our best.

"We knew when the fixtures came out this one would be a real tricky one, so we have to match them and show our qualities as well.

"We have to be physical and we have to head the ball tonight. We need to be first to first and second balls and we are going to have to be energetic and play in the right areas. We haven't scored the last three times we've been here as well so we need to crack that."

  17. In-form opponents looking uppublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Arbroath v Dunfermline Athletic (19:45)

It was a busy night in the Championship last night as Dundee United's commanding lead was cut to 16 points as they drew with Ayr United while second-top Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat Greenock Morton in stoppage time.

Tonight's only game has significance at both ends of the table as Dick Campbell's surprise guys, Arbroath, host his former side, Dunfermline Athletic.

The part-timers are level on points with the visitors from Fife and both can move into the top four, replacing Dundee, with a victory.

However, although they both have a six-point lead over third-bottom Alloa Athletic with games in hand, defeat could leave them nervously looking below.

Both sides have won three of their last four outings and have one win apiece in their head-to-heads this season.

    Rangers v Hamilton Academical (19:45)

Asked about the pressure heaped on Rangers counterpart Steven Gerrard after slip-ups in the Premiership and Scottish Cup, Brian Rice said it was nothing to what he faces trying to keep Hamilton in the top flight.

The Accies head coach's burden got greater after last night's win for Hearts against Hibs that sent his side to the bottom of the table.

Will this be the season when famed Accies' fighting qualities fail to keep them up? Thumbs up if you think they can stay up, thumbs down if they are going down!

One midweek Premiership game has already been played and what a turn up for the books it was last night at Easter Road as in-form Hibs were swept aside 3-1 by troubled neighbours Hearts.

Daniel Stendel's side are at last suggesting they can lift themselves out of relegation trouble, have moved off the bottom, are now a point ahead of Hamilton and just three behind St Mirren, although the Buddies have a game in hand.
