Blackburn very much in the mix as well but they can't afford too many more performances like this. They stay three points behind Preston.

Derby's performances have been getting better and better, and this was without Wayne Rooney for whatever reason.

The team came together today and after that first 10 minutes their link play was terrific and the defending was simple.

It was a proper team performance.

The kids are alright.

A very young Derby side dominate the game and win very easily indeed.

Louie Sibley with a fabulous opener, Chris Martin sliding in a second before half-time and then Martin's penalty capped off a great afternoon for Phillip Cocu's side.

For Blackburn, today has been a total write off.

They threatened briefly at the start of the game and then briefly after half time but they've been a long second best.

Oh dear this is a real wheels off moment for Blackburn.

A nasty lunge from substitute John Buckley on Curtis Davies just outside the Derby penalty area and he receives a straight red card.

Chris Martin has been picked as the sponsor's Man of the Match.

Led the line well but surely Louie Sibley had a huge claim.

Four more minutes of this one.

Another Derby youngster comes on.

19-year-old Morgan Whittaker, an academy product, arrives for the final minutes, replacing Jayden Bogle.

Great to see.

Blackburn fans heading for the exits, their side haven't turned up today.

We needed something to liven this conclusion up and here it is.

Jason Knight bundled over on the left side of the area.

Horrible, clumsy challenge from Elliott Bennett, floored the Derby man.

Under 10 minutes remaining now and Derby are beginning to reach for the cigars again.

They've had to soak up a little pressure in this second half but this lead has never been seriously threatened.

Blackburn are trying to find a way back into the game and force a corner.

It's flicked to the far post and Danny Graham is there but he can only scoop a header away from goal.

Don't think he was expecting that.

Not quite the perfect day for Louie Sibley as he's booked for a foul in midfield on Bradley Johnson.

It's his last action as he's taken off and gets a tremendous reception.

Jack Marriott replaces him and Martyn Waghorn also makes way for Curtis Davies.

Max Bird has a lunge in midfield on Joe Rothwell and goes into the book.

Meanwhile, Sam Gallagher is replaced by the 34-year-old Danny Graham for Rovers.

John Buckley also on for Rovers, Ben Brereton heads off.

Into the final 20 minutes we go and Derby have settled again.

Job not done yet but the Rovers comeback appears to have been quelled.

Mark G: Sibley's an absolute demon. He had McTominay in his back pocket and he scores a belter today.

Better from Derby, they have the ball back in midfield and begin to find their passing game again.

They work it to Max Bird 25 yards out, left foot hit but straight at Rovers keeper Christian Walton.

Suddenly Derby have seven-eight men around their own area and Matt Clarke steps out to make a good block.

Ben Brereton then wins a free-kick on the left touchline, swung over by Stewart Downing but headed away.

All Rovers.

Amari'i Bell finds some space just outside the area and shoots left-footed.

It's deflected towards the goalkeeper's right post and Ben Hamer, wrong footed for a moment, leaps across and keeps it out.

Smart save. Rovers pressing.

Still a great chance here, quite straight, but Adam Armstrong can only fire the free-kick low into the wall.

Derby hold their comfortable advantage but Rovers have picked things up.
