They'll be a few Blackburn fans with large grins on their faces at the moment no doubt.

Two years ago, the club had just completed trips to Walsall and Wimbledon - quite the comedown for supporters who had enjoyed Premier League football for so long.

Now they sense a bid for a return to the top flight for first time since 2012 if they can force their way into the play-off picture.

It was always going to be a tricky season for Derby dealing with the comedown for a play-off final defeat and the departure of Frank Lampard.

But their form at Pride Park has been promotion-worthy - only two teams have come to DE24 and won in the league this season.

Sadly for the Rams, their away form is relegation-worthy.

Put the two together and you have their mid-table mediocrity.

It remains ever so tight in the race for the final play-off spot with six teams separated by only three points.

A win for Blackburn today would see them leapfrog four teams into sixth.

Rovers' goal difference is significantly better than the teams around them.
