    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Ooooh, we'll need to see that one again. The Celtic fans roar for a penalty as Henrik Larsson goes down in the box as a result of a slip by Lorenzo Amoruso which knocks the Swede off his feet.

  2. Lambert toilingpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Barry Ferguson is beginning to control the play in midfield but is having to fight hard to win possession from Neil Lennon and Stilian Petrov. Celtic captain Paul Lambert was an injury doubt in the build-up to this game - he looks a bit off the pace today, struggling to match runs by the likes of Neil McCann.

  3. Caniggia subbedpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Alex McLeish has made his first change: Shota Arveladze is on for Claudio Caniggia, the Argentina World Cup star's final ended by injury.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Celtic defender Bobo Balde is booked for a late challenge on the Dutchman Fernando Ricksen on the edge of the Rangers box. A moment before, Lorenzo Amoruso made a superb challenge to nick the ball off the toe of Celtic goal machine Henrik Larsson inside the box. This match could go either way. They look so evenly matched.

  5. A threat...even with their backs to goalpublished at 19:52 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

In Henrik Larsson and John Hartson, Celtic have two strikers with a wonderful talent to control the ball with their backs to goal, even when Rangers defenders are breathing down their necks. Can they hold it up or lay it off for the likes of Stilian Petrov to run on to?

  6. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 19:49 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Peter Lovenkrands is next to feel the force of this Celtic team as Bobo Balde thunders into an aerial challenge from behind. Again, Hugh Dallas keeps his cards in his pocket. Which team has the greater skill and appetite to push for the lead?

  7. Hartson given a warningpublished at 19:47 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas makes a fine save from Peter Lovenkrands' volley from 10 yards to keep this pulsating final even. Seconds later John Hartson slaps a flailing arm across the head of Rangers defender Craig Moore but gets nothing more than a ticking off by Hugh Dallas.

If you want to respond you want to respond quickly. That's why Alex McLeish has put him in, his record against Celtic is exceptional. A great strike, 1-1.

GOAL Celtic 1-1 Rangerspublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Peter Lovenkrands

Swedish defender Johan Mjallby and Chris Sutton both go for the long ball that was launched into the Celtic box. Peter Lovenkrands keeps his eye on it, though, and when Mjallby's header comes back to Earth the Dane shows tremendous sharpness to lash it past Rab Douglas for his fourth Old Firm goal of the season. It has taken Rangers little more than a minute to respond!

  10. Big Bad Johnpublished at 19:43 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

He's a handful, the big Welsh striker. John Hartson served a warning just a moment before heading in the opener, as he turned Maurice Ross and crossed into the box. He looks really up for this match, feeding off the atmosphere.

Nobody is on Hartson. He is the first to react and Klos has no chance whatsoever.

  12. goal

GOAL Celtic 1-0 Rangerspublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    John Hartson

It's about the brilliant delivery from Alan Thompson's free kick, dreadful marking by Rangers and the aerial power of Celtic! Bobo Balde rises above leaden-footed Lorenzo Amoruso to head the Celtic midfielder's corner down into the turf and it bounces up for John Hartson to head past Stefan Klos before Ronald de Boer can react to clear.

    Ouch!published at 19:40 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Chris Sutton, playing in defence this afternoon, knows what Claudio Caniggia can do if he gets in front of goal and makes a bruising challenge on the great Argentine. The veteran striker is lying on the turf in agony as the Rangers physio gets to work.

It's such a pity Scotland won't be at this summer's World Cup. When you look at Paul Lambert and Barry Ferguson, those are players who could grace any international tournament. Paul Lambert isn't at his fittest this afternoon, but he's doing well to close down Ferguson so far.

  16. Rocket manpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Didier Agathe must surely have little rockets in those boots. After a quiet start to the final, the wing-back charges down the right twice in as many minutes, slicing the first delivery wide and over-running the second. That's a warning to Rangers. You wouldn't like to be up against him chasing a ball over the top.

  17. Wasted chancepublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson clatters Rangers rampaging defender Fernando Ricksen and has to help defend a free-kick 25 yards from goal. The Celtic wall looks rather porous but Rangers can't capitalise as Neil McCann floats a left-footed effort a foot or so over the Celtic bar.

  18. Brains and brawnpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Ronald de Boer is playing with a sore toe but it hasn't stopped him thundering into a challenge with Celtic's Neil Lennon in midfield. He has power to match his evident class.

  19. CLOSE!published at 19:27 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

Players' player of the year Lorenzo Amoruso, a favourite of the Rangers fans, is the first to threaten goal. Claudio Caniggia wins a free kick on the right, skipper Barry Ferguson dinks one into the box and the big Italian heads over Rab Douglas's crossbar. That was a decent chance.

  20. Celtic pair strength and skillpublished at 19:25 British Summer Time 5 April 2020

    Celtic 0-0 Rangers

This Celtic team is full of muscle, with bruisers like John Hartson, Bobo Balde and Stiliyan Petrov, but there's no shortage of skill either. They can play. Rangers are going for pace up front. It's going to be an intriguing match.
