Kyle: I personally think you should have the same level of intensity with or without the crowd. It's their job for goodness sake. They play football in training sessions and they always talk about that having intensity. Before turning pro they had no crowd too.

    Schalke 0-1 Augsburg

Some good news for Wagner and co - Augsburg have lost four Bundesliga matches after leading this season, a joint-league-high alongside Mainz and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Lovely cross from Jonjoe Kenny has Augsburg keeper Andreas Luthe in a flap but they just about clear - and that's the break.

The lack of a crowd must really play a part when you're losing at home. It's all so slow and safe from Schalke.

You're 1-0 down lads! Come on now.

    Schalke 0-1 Augsburg

Both of these sides have won just once in 2020 - granted, there's a good reason for a big chunk of that.

But they're both out of nick and it rather shows. A lack of confidence for sure in the home side's attacks.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:59 British Summer Time 24 May 2020

    Schalke 0-1 Augsburg

Big chance! Augsburg commit men forwards and for once Schalke can hit them on the break. One pass down the left sends Rabbi Matondo away, his pace takes him clear of the last man and in on goal.

He's at a tight angle, tries to slide it under the keeper but Andreas Luthe stands up well and saves with his left foot. Excellent keeping.

Augsburg have scored their fourth goal from a direct free kick this Bundesliga season, at least two more than any other team.

    Specialists.

Better from the hosts as they patiently open up the Augsburg defence - it leads to a chance for Suat Serdar but he can only curl over the bar from 18 yards.

Anybody been to a game at Schalke? I've driven through the place and parked up. I watched Argentina v Mexico in a massive fanpark there in fact, but never been inside the stadium.

    Looks great.

    Schalke 0-1 Augsburg

Lovely stuff from Schalke defender Salif Sane - sends a man pressing completely sideways with a dummy before playing a cracking pass forwards.

Much like Huddersfield under Wagner Schalke are passing it around nicely but with no real goal threat at all to speak of.

First glimpse of Rabbi Matondo on the Schalke left and he's got serious pace, gliding past one man before his cross is cut out. Just not clicking for the hosts at the moment which is rather true to form.

That early goal has rocked Schalke, they're really slow to react in midfield and Augsburg break in numbers. A better ball from the right and that could have been more trouble.

One good thing about playing in an empty stadium is the amplified noise of a goal and that was another belter.

GOAL - Schalke 0-1 Augsburgpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 24 May 2020

    Eduard Lowen (6 mins)

Oh yes! An absolute snorter of a free-kick!

Augsburg take the lead thanks to Eduard Lowen. He rips a set-piece over the wall from about 25 yards, loads of dip on it and into the top of the net.

It wasn't completely in the corner though and Schalke keeper Markus Schubert - who had a stinker last week - may come under fire again

    Lovely hit though.

    Schalke 0-0 Augsburg

Schalke haven't scored in the first 15 minutes of a game this season - they're the only team to manage that. So don't expect an early avalanche.

It's been all Schalke so far. Someone on the Augsburg staff is really incredibly loud in his encouragement. Great to see/hear.

Michael Gregoritsch fires in a cross and Augsburg keeper Andreas Luthe has a mighty flap at it.
