"We thought something hopefully special was going to happen and that’s how it turned out.

"We went a bit crazy but the place went a bit silent when [Kevin] De Bruyne bagged a worldie free-kick. Luckily Chelsea reacted off that.

More from Jordan Henderson on Jurgen Klopp: "What you see is what you get, with his press conferences and on the sidelines. Obviously he as got more of a personal side with the players, but he has got a balance of having a relationship with the players and being a friend but also being a bit ruthless when he needs to be.

"He is a great leader and a great human being and we all believe in him. We have got an amazing group and that is down to the manager and how he has gelled them all together. It's not a coincidence and it's credit to him and all the staff."

  17. 'I'm just lost for words'published at 22:57 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Liverpool win the Premier League

    Liverpool

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson told Sky Sports: "It is amazing. I didn't want to talk about it until this moment. I'm so happy for all the boys. I'm just a bit overwhelmed and it's an amazing feeling. I'm so proud of what we have achieved.

"There was a lot of emotion and it was a different experience watching the game, and then to be with everyone and all the staff at the final whistle. It was a moment we will never forget. I'm just lost for words at the minute it hasn't really sunk in, you never really think of this end moment, you are just concentrating on each game. When this moment comes, I cannot really describe it.

"After the Champions League final, I said it wouldn't be possible to win it without the manager, and that is no disrespect to the managers before him, but I felt from day one he came in the door he changed everything and we have all followed him. So far, it has been very special and I hope we can stay hungry and keep wanting more."

  19. Some of the numbers behind the 30 yearspublished at 22:55 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

We've had 30 years to crunch the numbers. This is what Liverpool needed to do over the years to win this historic Premier League title.

They have played 1,149 games since the start of the 1990-91 season. That is 103,410 minutes (not including injury time) spent on the pitch in pursuit of that 19th title.

They have won 595 of those matches (which is a win percentage of around 52%), scored 1,968 goals (for an overall goal difference of +822) and taken 2,075 points.

The highest number of points they have claimed from a single opponent over the three decades is the 108 points they have taken off Tottenham from 60 encounters between the two.

They have won 105 points against Merseyside rivals Everton, while West Ham have been plundered for 101.

They have a 100% win record against Brighton, Cardiff, Huddersfield and Notts County, although the most number of times they have faced any of those sides is the five games they have played against the Seagulls.

  20. 'It has been coming for three or four years'published at 22:53 British Summer Time 25 June 2020

    Phil Neville
England Women manager on BBC Match of the Day

It’s not an accident this. It has been coming for three or four years. Jurgen Klopp has recruited really well and the team has just got better and better.

He didn’t add anyone into his squad in the summer but he knew they were hungry.
