    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

No matter how bad Bournemouth have been of late, and that's very, they are still ony a point from safety, and West Ham, as it stands.

Wins are going to come at a premium from that bottom five, you'd say. Chelsea have a post-drinks set-piece which the Hammers deal with.

  2. 'Our most difficult challenge'published at 20:41 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle

    Bournemouth

More from Eddie Howe, on whether this is his toughest period as Bournemouth manager: "Yes of course. I have not shied away from that.

"This is the most difficult challenge we have in terms of trying to preserve our status in this league, possibly more difficult than the battle we had to stay in the Football League.

"We have a small amount of time to turn this around."

  5. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea cranking it up now and that's close! Probably should have done better actually. Tammy Abraham steps over a ball in from the right, nicely disguised, and Christian Pulisic behind him clips it first time, over Fabianski but also over the top.

  6. Postpublished at 19 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Good strike! Ross Barkley gets hold of that shot, a swerving, dipping effort from 20-ish yards but again, Lukasz Fabianski is safe as houses behind it to make the stop.

  7. Postpublished at 17 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Marcos Alonso has been heavily involved in these early stages, he's the out ball for Chelsea and he puts in a very teasing cross which Tammy Abraham can't make a proper connection with. It squirts off his head and away.

  8. Postpublished at 16 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

What on earth is Michail Antonio's actual best position? I feel like I've seen him have a good go pretty much anywhere. An FM dream, I'd imagine.

  9. 'Not a natural centre-forward'published at 20:30 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is a great chance for Antonio. He slashes it but he has to at least hit the target. He has all the raw strength but that is why he is not a natural centre-forward.

  10. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Unlucky! Michail Antonio does brilliantly, all his own work, to pick up the ball and drive past Marcos Alonso and get into the area. He's pretty much on on one with Kepa, the angle is not friendly and he drags his shot across goal.

    Well played.

    Everton

A little Richarlison update for you all - he went off with a kick to his foot or ankle earlier but it's nothing to fret about.

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

West Ham have now fully retreated into a 4-5-1, with Michail Antonio the first defender. Chelsea just passing it side to side, it's all very patient but not really going anywhere.

It's almost like Frank Lampard didn't watch the Keith Curle masterclass at Wembley on Monday night.

There's a shot though! Willian from 18 yards, catching practice for Fabianski.

    Oh dear Eddie.

'It was close to being a lot better than it looked.'

Come on now. You got gubbed at home by Steve Bruce's Newcastle.

  14. 'We contributed to our own downfall'published at 20:22 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "Another difficult start for us here. The two games have been built up so much here at home (against Crystal Palace and Newcastle) - the importance of them and both times we have conceded an early goal and it has really knocked our stride and confidence.

"We contributed to our own downfall today. Some uncharacteristic mistakes. It may be a lack of confidence.

"A lot went into today's performance. It was close to being a lot better than it looked. There were some good bits mixed in there but they get lost and deservedly so with the result.

"The players are playing slightly tense, you could say understandably with the position they are in. I urge them to play the game and not the situation but they are struggling a bit under the weight of that.

"I'll go away and look at what we can do with the squad we have. Everything is a possibility."

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea win a corner and Marcos Alonso is able to contort himself enough to send in an overhead kick on goal. It was never going to go in but it's a first save of the night. Declan Rice, confusing me every time with his new hair, then drives the Hammers up the field well.

  16. Postpublished at 3 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea now quick to settle into a rhythm, with Mateo Kovacic stringing passes along. Get it to Christian Pulisic - he's been superb of late.

  17. Postpublished at 1 min

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Yeah that's definitely a new Chelsea kit. If you care about such things. West Ham, who David Moyes said will have a go, remember, start with some neat play across the middle but it ends up back at Lukas Fabianski.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    West Ham 0-0 Chelsea

Bubbles blown, knees taken, game under way.

  19. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

West Ham v Chelsea (20:15 BST)

Here come the sides then, West Ham are captained by Declan Rice tonight. Have Chelsea got a new kit on? I should be telling you that shouldn't I. I'm not great on modern kits but I think so.

  20. 'Every game is like a final'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 1 July 2020

    Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin speaking to Sky Sports: "Everyone is really happy. We want to win this game. Every game is like a final because we want to move up if possible. We played a great game today.

"I like my second assist because it is good dribbling. I said to [Sean] Longstaff to wait for this and he was to score a great goal so I am really happy.

"The lockdown gave me a good opportunity to feel better and that is what has happened. I am happy because my team has won.

"It helped me a lot because I had time for recovery. It gave me that opportunity to play better so I want to keep going and keep working. We just want to look forward. We have a big game against West Ham so if we win this we have 45 points. We want to keep going."
