A massive goal at the bottom.

Sam Vokes gets in front of his man on the edge of the six-yard box and glances in a corner from the right flank.

Tykes keeper Jack Walton couldn't reach it, and the visitors didn't have a man on the post either.

    Bristol City 0-0 Cardiff

Good defensive work from Cardiff early doors as shots from Nahki Wells and Tomas Kalas are well blocked by Dion Sanderson and Curtis Nelson.

    Brentford 0-0 Wigan

Brentford are the top scorers in the Championship, with 70 goals in 40 games.

The Bees almost take the lead in the early stages, but keeper David Marshall saves Henrik Dalsgaard's effort from a narrow angle.

The hosts recycle the ball and keep the pressure up, and Bryan Mbeumo has a shot blocked behind.

Wigan have kept seven consecutive clean sheets but their defence will face a stern examination today.

GOAL: Blackburn 0-1 Leedspublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Patrick Bamford (7 mins)

Big goal for the league leaders, as Patrick Bamford snaps up goal number 15 of the season with a cool finish past Christian Walton.

It all came after Mateusz Klich robbed Lewis Travis with a heavy challenge.

Rovers had earlier gone close when ex-Leeds midfielder Bradley Johnson forced a smart save from Illan Meslier.

    Fulham 0-0 Birmingham

An early let-off for Fulham as a poor back-pass from Michael Hector plays in Blues midfielder Jude Bellingham.

But, one-on-one with the keeper, the teenager loses his footing as he gets into the box and Fulham snuff the danger out.

Fulham's home form is probably a reason why their automatic promotion bid has faded somewhat since the spring.

The Whites have lost five of their past 14 games at Craven Cottage.

Birmingham, despite being eight without a win, are unbeaten in eight games on the road - although they have drawn five of those games.

Fulham boss Scott Parker has named an unchanged team from the midweek win at QPR.

    Stoke v Barnsley (15:00 BST)

Relegation six-pointers don't come much bigger than this one.

Stoke City are the only club in the bottom six yet to taste victory since the restart.

The Potters have taken one point from their three games back, and defeats by rivals Wigan and Middlesbrough have seen the club slip into the drop zone following Hull's late win over Boro on Thursday.

Boss Michael O'Neill makes five changes from the side beaten by the Latics in midweek, replacing three of his back four.

Today's visitors Barnsley have enjoyed a resurgence following lockdown.

Gerhard Struber's men were bottom and seven points adrift of safety when the season was suspended, but two wins and a draw mean the Tykes travel to the Bet365 Stadium two points behind Stoke.

Either club could take a big step towards survival if they can take all three points.

Luton Town have slipped to the bottom of the Championship table since the season restarted, despite being unbeaten since football returned.

The Hatters are actually on a run of six without defeat and, with Nathan Jones back at the helm for a second spell in charge, look to have a decent chance of survival.

After grabbing a point at Leeds in midweek, the Kenilworth Road club start the day four points from safety.

Today's opponents Reading are three without a win, with back-to-back defeats by Derby and Brentford leaving the Royals six points above the drop zone.

    Huddersfield v Preston (15:00 BST)

    Fraizer CampbellImage source, Rex Features

With Huddersfield battling the drop and Preston trying to stay in the promotion mix, points couldn't be more at a premium at the John Smith's Stadium this afternoon.

Town fared much better in their 3-0 midweek win over Birmingham, than they did in Sunday's 3-1 loss Forest, a victory which propelled them out of the drop zone.

It doesn't bode well for Preston, whose miserable run of form stretches back to before the pandemic shutdown, and brought just one point from a possible 18.

Their midweek loss to Derby, a proper six-pointer, saw them lose ground and success this afternoon feels imperative as the games thin out at this stage of the season.

Cardiff City travel to Ashton Gate just inside the play-off places, and will be keen to extend their five-match unbeaten run and remain ahead of the chasing pack.

With seventh-placed Derby only behind the Bluebirds on goal difference, Neil Harris will want to return to Wales with all three points.

Mid-table Bristol City are in desperate need of a victory, with Lee Johnson's men winless in their past eight league games - losing six and drawing two.

The latest defeat came against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, as City slipped to six points off the top six.

The Robins will be hoping striker Nahki Wells can continue his goalscoring record against Cardiff, after the Bermuda international scored a hat-trick for QPR against the Blubirds earlier in the season.

    Fulham v Birmingham (15:00 BST)

    Pep ClotetImage source, Rex Features

Fulham's automatic promotion bid was badly derailed by back-to-back defeats by rivals Brentford and Leeds straight after the restart.

The Whites came from behind to win at QPR in midweek - but the Craven Cottage outfit are now fifth and seven points off the top two.

Scott Parker remains without Aleksandar Mitrovic, the division's joint-top scorer, through suspension.

Birmingham are yet to taste victory since the resumption and an eight-match winless run has left the Blues six points above the bottom three.

Head coach Pep Clotet is set to leave at the end of the season but needs to stop that slide, otherwise the club will find themselves in real danger soon.

    Brentford v Wigan (15:00 BST)

Unsurprisingly, there's been plenty of uproar and reaction to Wigan's entry into administration in midweek.

Local MP Lisa Nandy says the club are the victim of a "major global scandal".

Along with Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham, Nandy has called for an investigation into the club's takeover by Next Leader Fund at the end of May.

Two clubs who have recorded three straight wins since the restart meet at Griffin Park.

Hosts Brentford began the resumption by defeating automatic promotion rivals Fulham and West Brom to rise to third in the table - and five points off the top two.

Wigan Athletic are on a nine-match unbeaten run, but were plunged into crisis on Wednesday when the club went into administration.

The Latics had moved well clear of the relegation zone but now have a renewed desperation for points.

The club are set to be deducted 12 points by the English Football League - but the punishment will only be implemented this season if the club finish outside of the relegation zone.

Wigan make the trip to the capital standing seven points above the bottom three.

The equation is simple - Paul Cook needs to get his side 13 points clear of 22nd place to guarantee their spot in the Championship for next season.

With clubs at the bottom picking up points, how will the latest developments affect the players?

    Patrick BamfordImage source, Rex Features

With second-placed West Brom not in action until tomorrow, leaders Leeds United have the chance to go four points clear at the top of the table when they travel to Blackburn.

Yet nothing is certain for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The Whites were held to a 1-1 draw by Luton on Tuesday, failing to take advantage of 75% possession and 23 attempts on the Hatters' goal.

Leeds have amassed 75 points from 40 league games, and only three of the past 24 clubs to reach that tally have failed to win promotion to the top flight.

Unfortunately, the Whites became the latest club in that select bunch last season, slipping out of the top two and being beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Derby.

Will supporters get a case of deja vu this season?

Hosts Rovers are five points off the top six, but have lost their past two.

    Bottom of Championship

Charlton's defeat by Millwall last night keeps them in the mob of teams desperately trying to stay afloat in the Championship.

Wigan's recent run of form could be in vain after they were placed in administration this week, and in turn the threat of a points deduction.

Midweek results went against Stoke and Middlesbrough, but everyone up to 18th would probably consider themselves in the mire with at most six games to go.

Hull and Boro are the only sides in the bottom six who are not in action today.

All snatched away in seconds at the end of the game.

Forest had this game won but one silly moment of madness gave Derby a chance that they took at the death to earn a point.

Joe Lolley's first-half drive had given Forest the lead and they might have added to it had Thiago Silva's shot gone a few inches to the left and had Lewis Grabban had his shooting boots on.

Derby toiled for much of the game in terms of chances against a stubborn Forest rearguard but when the opportunity finally came, they took it.

Points shared. Forest stay fourth, Derby stay seventh. It's a waiting game now as the rest of the matches are played.

    What a turnaround.

Joe Worrall gives a free-kick away, a silly one for blocking off Morgan Whittaker, and hands Derby one last dig.

How painful it will be for the Forest-supporting centre-half as Wayne Rooney's free-kick is just about bundled in by Chris Martin.

It's his first derby game goal and it's a crucial one.
