  1. Thanks and goodnightpublished at 23:04 British Summer Time 19 June 2020

Pessimistic stuff from Pique there. To be fair, I'd be a bit glum after taking part in that game.

My cat had the right idea, falling asleep 30 minutes in.

On that note, I'll say goodnight. Join us again over the weekend for more La Liga action - hopefully more fun that this!

  2. 'Difficult to win this league'published at 23:03 British Summer Time 19 June 2020

    Sevilla 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique: "They are third in the table for a reason. It was a very competitive game. We now don't depend on ourselves. We had chances but we weren't able to take them - more than they did.

"They were tired late on and we had the ball but they closed down the space well. We created chances but weren't able to score the goal.

"It will be difficult to win this league. But we will do everything we can. From what I've seen in recent weeks it will difficult for Real Madrid to lose points."

And that's your lot. Barca open the door for Real Madrid courtesy of a frustrating draw.

The visitors were the better side, but they couldn't find that crucial pass or bit of magic. Messi was quiet.

Wasted. Comes to absolutely nothing. Pah.

A corner. In the final minute of added time. For Barca.

    Ter Stegen is coming up...

Sevilla should have scored that very winner.

And it is Sergio Reguilon, the on loan Real Madrid player of all people, who spurns it. The ball drops to him 10 yards out with not a Barca player near him, but he hits his effort into the ground, making it easy for Ter Stegen to save.

Best two chances of the game have come in the last few minutes and neither team has capitalised.

Into injury time. A goal now will be the winner.

Riqui Puig will play the final few minutes for Barcelona. He is Rakitic's replacement. An exciting young player, he's 20 but looks about 12.

There's the chance. The one to win it. No wonder Suarez has his head in his hands.

Alba's low ball into the box from the left finds the striker completely unmarked just inside the box but he whips his first-time shot over the bar.

The visitors won't get a better chance tonight.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

Another change for Sevilla. Ocampos makes way and on comes Franco Vazquez.

Sevilla break and Ocampos - the real danger man - has the chance to drive another low angled shot at Ter Stegen. The Barca keeper is again equal to it, though.

Ten minutes to go. Can Barca find a way through? Or will Sevilla's resilience win out?

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

As the players head for a drinks break, Antoine Griezmann comes on for Arturo Vidal.

Jordi Alba to the rescue for Barca!

Sevilla are away down the left and they have two men charging into the box unmarked to receive a potential low cross and surely finish, but Alba stands tall and blocks the delivery.

Messi is felled again near the edge of the box by Fernando. Nobody is wrestling the ball away from him for the set-piece, but his curling effort is tipped over.

From the resulting corner, the ball falls to Suarez on the right side of the box but his low shot is blocked. Barca smell blood but Sevilla dig in and after another bit of pinball in the area the ball is hacked to halfway.

That is the cue for Griezmann to get ready for action.

He's trying. Messi hasn't been able to find a way through the heavy Sevilla attention yet.

He almost gets a sniff from a low cross from the left but Kounde whips the ball off his toe before he can shoot.

Two changes for Sevilla. De Jong and Fernando depart. On come forward Youssef En-Nesyri and central midfielder Nemanja Gudeji.

For a second then, I thought we were getting a pitch invasion. But it's just the artificial crowd overlay busting. Technology eh. Great when it works. Just ask Sheffield United.

Braithwaite's night is over. Sadly, he has contributed very little. Arthur is his replacement. Looks like Messi has come over to this left side for now.

Messi again allows a pass to go astray. Not been at all on it yet the Barca forward.

Soon after, down the other end, Ocampos curls a shot over the bar.
