  1. Is 2-0 the most dangerous scoreline?published at 19:42 British Summer Time 30 July 2020

    Fulham v Cardiff, 2-0 agg (19:45 BST)

Fulham have a buffer heading into the second leg, and history is on their side.

Fifteen clubs have previously won the first leg of a semi-final by two or more goals - and all 15 have gone on to reach the final.

But last year Leeds United became the first ever Championship team to win away from home in the first leg and then not make the final.

    Can Cardiff enter play-off folklore?

Neil Harris is backing his Cardiff City side to create history this year by overturning the deficit from the first leg.

In the 33-year history of the play-offs, no second-tier team has reached the final having lost a first leg by two goals.

"We understand the challenge in front of us, but the barriers are there to be broken down," said Harris.

"Records are always there to be broken in all sports, not just football, and they continue to get broken.

"That's our task in front of us and we're not going to shy away from that task. We're not frightened."

Fulham saw their automatic promotion dreams badly dented straight after the restart following the coronavirus lockdown.

The Whites were beaten at home by Brentford in their first game back and then lost at eventual champions Leeds United.

But then the Craven Cottage side recovered, going seven unbeaten to end the campaign in fourth.

Cardiff finished the season with a three-match winning streak, and the Bluebirds have won six of their past eight games away from home.

Four of those victories have been by a two-goal margin.

In the most recent match between the sides, Fulham won 2-0 when they hosted Cardiff in west London 20 days ago.

Fulham or Cardiff will face Brentford in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

The Bees overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Swansea City last night and book their spot at the national stadium.

The west Londoners were 2-1 ahead on aggregate within 15 minutes of the second leg thanks to Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Marcondes.

In a thrilling contest between two attractive, footballing sides, Brentford managed to pull a two-goal advantage early in the second half when Bryan Mbeumo volleyed home at the near post.

Rhian Brewster dragged the Swans back into the contest with 12 minutes remaining, but the visitors were unable to find a second goal which would have forced extra-time.

Fulham tasted success in the Championship play-offs two years ago, beating Aston Villa 1-0 at Wembley to win promotion.

That's the west Londoners' sole success from their four play-off campaigns before this season.

Tim Ream and Tom Cairney are the only two men in the starting XI from that May day in 2018 who feature from the off for the Whites tonight.

Seven others in the squad that day remain at the west London club.

Cardiff have only gone up once from their five previous play-off campaigns.

Monday's defeat in the first leg means the Bluebirds have lost five of their past six play-off matches.
