Charles: Shakhtar are a good European side but their weakness has always been Pyatov. Once again an error by him is costing them one of their biggest nights. Why have they never invested in a better stopshotter?

Paul Ince complaining about Antonio Conte making the football boring on BT Sport sums us all up...

Inter don't need to do anything or take any risks. They have got the goal, Shakhtar are not going anywhere with the ball and look lost for ideas.

We could be in for another, long 45 minutes unless Shakhtar can bring something else to the party!

Cruise control for Inter. But Shakhtar are still in this.

    Marlos... to Marcos.

Shakhtar take about 100 touches on the edge of the box before Marcos Antonio eventually crashes an effort towards goal.

It's a decent one too - always rising, but with plenty of power on it. Keeper Samir Handanovic was wary! Much better!

Still 0 shots on target from Shakhtar.

Marlos wins a free-kick on the right, rather fortunately, as Shakhtar are being pressed further and further back towards their own goal.

They are passing sideways and not going anywhere.

Junior Moraes is feeding off scraps at the moment.

He's squeezed between two defenders as the ball comes in from the right and he can only flick it straight out for a goal kick.

    Good defending.

    Inter Milan 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Inter are in total control. No pressure from Shakhtar.

Time on the ball, space to run into and not much to worry about defensively for Antonio Conte's side at the moment.

    Far too simple.

It's flicked on by Romelu Lukaku on the right. Nicolo Barella has acres of space to run into and isn't closed down.

He tries to catch the keeper out with an effort on the bounce but it's straight at him.

Shakhtar have recovered from a deficit in five European matches this season, more than any other club (W1-D4-L0).

Wow! Unreal pass from Mykola Matviyenko!

It's drilled diagonally over to Dodo, who does so well to gather it in. He slides it across the box and Junior Moraes' first-time effort is deflected wide.

    Very nice move.

How did this not go in?!

It's a stunning ball in from the left which could have been poked in by three different Inter players.

Nicolo Barella, I think it is, gets on the end of it eventually at the back post. It appears to hit Romelu Lukaku, who had slid across to try and head it in.

Lautaro Martinez, who also missed it originally, tries to collect it on the far post with an acrobatic effort but hits the side-netting. The flag's up anyway!

    Inter Milan 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

There's a bit more urgency from Shakhtar now.

Lots of neat passing, flicks and one-twos. But the final ball is poor. They are not really going anywhere with their possession at the moment.

    Inter are very organised.

    Inter Milan 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Dodo is in space on the right for Shakhtar but there's nobody in the box for him other than Junior Moraes.

In the end, Inter bring two defenders across and hoard him out. Dodo ends up looking backwards and the chance to break is gone.

    Lautaro Martinez

Nicolo Barella waved his arms in frustration a few moments ago when his pass was missed by Lautaro Martinez.

But he gets away on the right - gifted possession by a poor kick from the keeper - and picks Martinez out again with an inch-perfect cross.

Martinez gets there ahead of the defender and flicks it into the far corner.

    One chance, goal.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Nicolo Barella tracks back on the left and intercepts a pass in midfield. He immediately looks for Lautaro Martínez in the box but the Inter striker lets the ball bounce between his legs and out for a goal kick.
