    Inter Milan 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

First real sight of the ball for Romelu Lukaku as he's threaded in on the right.

The striker holds it up and tries to tee up a teammate in the middle but his pass is wayward and Shakhtar regain possession.

    Sloppy.

Shakhtar are trying to find a way through but there's no space. It's switched from Dodo (one of my favourite names in football) over to Taison on the far side.

Taison plays it inside and tries to make a run down the left but ends up sprinting straight into the full-back and falls flat on his back...

He gets no sympathy from the ref.

    Slow start...

There's an example of that Brazilian flair.

Marlos' touch is excellent as he cushions the ball down on the right and cuts inside. He's looking for a quick one-two with Taison on the edge of the box but the midfielder's first-time pass is too heavy.

    Inter Milan 0-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Nice passage of play from Shakhtar, with Taison's flick near the touchline almost setting up an attack down the left.

Inter are in a well-organised shape at the back though.

Danilo D'Ambrosio then presses a clearance up the other end and is caught on his ankle from behind. Inter have a free-kick just outside the box but it's wasted.

    Bit of pinball early on.

Stefan de Vrij eventually brings it down and is caught by Junior Moraes. Inter keep it at the back for a bit before pumping it long.

    It's dealt with comfortably.

Drama early on. The ball is too flat apparently. They've tossed it away and grabbed another one.

    Antonio Conte just looks confused.

Ashley: Inter, would be hilarious to see Lukaku and Alexis win a trophy before United do.

Punditangry: Shakthar are beating Inter btw.

Ibatayo: Inter Milan will scale through at the expense of the Ukrainian giants barring any complacency. A decade ago was quite a long way back. The Conte influence has been working so well for the club despite being sent packing from the elite competition. They will cruise to the final.

Inter Milan v Shakhtar Donetsk (20:00 BST)

Inter Milan are a massive club but they haven't had much success in European competition recently.

This will be their first semi-final in European competition since winning the the 2009-10 Champions League.

They are aiming to win their first trophy since 2010-11 too after losing out to Juventus in Serie A.

Antonio Conte has not won a European trophy as a manager either. Can they set up a final against Sevilla for a chance to turn that around?

    Hit the thumbs.

  15. 'Absolutely calm about the match'published at 19:47 British Summer Time 17 August 2020

Inter Milan v Shakhtar Donetsk (20:00 BST)

Serie A runners-up Inter are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions.

Ukrainian champions Shakhtar have not lost for 11 games.

"I am absolutely calm about the match," said Shakhtar boss Luis Castro.

"We know that there is a fight with a very strong team, and that is not surprising. We are prepared for this.

"There is a very difficult game ahead, but Inter also, I think, will face difficulties. Calmness is our DNA and I am sure that we are fully prepared for the match."

Ukrainian champions Shakhtar have only met Inter Milan once before in a competitive fixture.

That was in the 2005-06 Champions League qualifying phase, with Inter winning 3-1 on aggregate across two legs.

Shakhtar are looking to reach only their second ever European final, last achieving that feat in the 2008-09 Uefa Cup before going on to beat Werder Bremen in the final.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte says semi-final opponents Shakhtar Donetsk will be their toughest Europa League opponents yet.
