  1. 'Confident Pukki will be important'published at 18:55 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Man City 5-0 Norwich

    Norwich City

Norwich boss Daniel Farke: "We knew today wouldn’t be competitive against one of the best sides in the world. We were not able to fill the whole bench.

"You could feel a bit scared when you look at their bench to ours. The score was not a fair reflection.

"We need fresh faces and fresh energy. The Championship is a big challenge."

On Teemu Pukki: "32 games in the Premier League says a lot about my trust in him. The second half of the season was difficult for him.

"Not many players have played more games in the last 24 months. It is important for him to recover. I am confident he will be a key player for us next season."

  2. 'I'm very proud of the team'published at 18:53 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to 5 Live: "I thought we were well in the game. With their level of quality it was important to stay in the game, and I thought first half we did really, really well. We defended well. We just needed that final pass and piece of quality, but I thought we were a threat.

"It was all going to plan, but of course we give away the penalty and then we're chasing it. We just couldn't manage the goal that could give us that final rally. Disappointed in terms of the result but perspective over the course of the season - I'm very proud of the team. It's the second-highest finish in our history, so I can be proud of that. Next year we have to add greater consistency, more ambition in the team and look to improve."

On Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy: "We wouldn't be where we are, challenging, without his quality and his goals. He's a joy to work with, every day with a smile on his face, he works so hard. It's a huge accolade for him and we're all delighted."

  3. 'Fans want to thank Silva'published at 18:52 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Man City 5-0 Norwich

    Manchester City

More from Pep Guardiola on facing Real Madrid next: "It's a different competition and opponents, we have two weeks now.

"Tomorrow we have regeneration and after that we’ll prepare for the game, to try to be in a good game and that’s all. We’ll arrive in the best conditions and that’s what we try to do.

On David Silva: "It was the smallest standing ovation of all time but he will come back to receive the ovation he deserves.

"I have the feeling that the fans want to do it, what they’ve done on the pitch show the gratitude and the honour that he has to have for the incredible 10 years.

"The team wanted to let him feel and say thank you for what he’s done for this club for 10 years."

  4. 'I didn't enjoy that at all!'published at 18:51 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane on BBC Radio 5 Live: "A mixture of emotions - happiness, pure relief, just delighted to get over the line. Grinding out the great escape, just delighted really. I didn't enjoy it at all to be honest! The drinks breaks were a nightmare this time because you get told the results elsewhere, that wasn't enjoyable at all. It probably wasn't a great spectacle but we got the job done.

"Jack Grealish stepped up to the plate when we needed it most, like he's done all season. We needed that bit of magic. I'm just over the moon to get over the line.

"Dean [Smith]'s been fantastic hasn't he? Got us promoted last year and the job this year was to stay up and get us some momentum. Hopefully we can build on this and take it in to next year. People wrote us off three or four weeks ago and we've come up trumps."

  6. 'We need De Bruyne's goals too'published at 18:49 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Man City 5-0 Norwich

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "We did a good job - a game with many players who were outstanding, Kyle [Walker] played very well. In general, we were in a good position.

"Good to finish here, second position, scoring a lot of goals, Ederson and Kevin de Bruyne and now we have two weeks to prepare for Real Madrid.

"The two goals – the second is really nice too, I like that from Kevin and the assists, but we need his goals too. Today, he scored two special goals, particularly the first one.

"We told him to play as you know don’t be focussed too much and it will come along [the assists record], he made one assist but could have broken it easily. Instead he’ll share with [Thierry] Henry and he played really well."

  8. 'Looking more and more like a Man Utd team'published at 18:42 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "I'm delighted. We've achieved a Champions League spot, we've come from way, way behind teams and gone past them. We've shown that we've got the consistency, the right mentality. We're building a group and a performance culture here that we can be proud of.

"I told the boys that no matter what happened today, we've won. The players have shown their qualities as a group. They've taken on board what we want and they're looking more and more like a Manchester United team on the pitch. The environment there is so much better than it was before."

  10. 'We need a decision and one quickly'published at 18:39 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce to BBC Sport: "We've dropped like nine pins over the last few weeks. We don't have the ability to rotate like most teams. I was pleased with most aspects. We showed up and had a go.

"I've never known anything like it [their defensive injury crisis]. Thankfully we came back in good condition [after the coronavirus break], won a couple of games early in the restart and that helped enormously."

On what owner Mike Ashley said before the game... "He wanted to say thank you to all my players and staff for the hard work and effort and to enjoy the summer. What he reiterated was it's in the hands of the Premier League and it's been like that for weeks. We need a decision and one quickly. How long do we need to make that decision?

"All I want is what's best for this great club. If new owners come in and take the club forward that's what we all want as Newcastle fans.

"We're disappointed that we faded a bit at the death [in recent weeks]. We're disappointed not to overtake last year's tally. But if someone said at the start of the season would you be happy to finish with seven teams below you, we'd have taken that. But that's not enough. We want to push for the top 10 on a regular basis and not look over our shoulders."

  11. 'A necessary evil'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC Sport: "We could not move up a place in the table but I am really pleased with them to go out and get a hard earned point.

"Our squad is small, it is ageing, we have been playing some of the top teams in the country and it has been hard. I see this period as a necessary evil that we have had to go through.

"Even if the intention and desire from the board is to spend some money and rejuvenate the team, whether it’s a possibility in the market is another matter. Unless we get help soon the job gets harder and harder. We need some players who can do what Harry Kane did for Tottenham today."

  12. 'Challenge is to see what more we can do'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Chelsea 2-0 Wolves

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "They’re a really good side to play against, but the discipline of my team today was fantastic. Sometimes we haven’t had that at home this season.

"Mason [Mount]’s strike was pure quality, Giroud was class as always. It means a great deal to me, at Chelsea we can’t get too excited with Top Four finishes. When we first came in we maybe weren’t considered there but what we’ve done this season is take the opportunity to bring in the younger players and improve the existing players.

"There were a lot of unknowns when I came in, could we move forward without Eden Hazard. We knew we had lost a massive player. We’ve a real spirit within the group now and it’s a real team effort now.

"Myself and the staff want to improve every time, the challenge now is to see what more we can do next season."

  13. Pep 'doesn't think' Aguero will make Real Madrid gamepublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Man City 5-0 Norwich

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says striker Sergio Aguero is unlikely to be fit for the Champions League encounter with Real Madrid on 7 August.

Aguero has been missing since 22 June with a knee injury.

"I don't think it will be possible," said Guardiola.

  14. 'I expect Grealish to get drunk with me'published at 18:37 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith speaking to BT Sport: "I didn't think we were great, but we defended resolutely. Defences were on top. A magnificent achievement from everyone.

"We had to concentrate on this game. We were up throughout the whole game. Jack [Grealish] was due one and he scored a magnificent goal.

"I was brought up a Villa fan. It is a proud moment and feels better than going up last season. It was a big change we had to make at the football club.

"We had to build a new team, a new squad. We used the pandemic to the best. I lost my father through that period and there was a lot of disappointment, but we knew we had to work hard.

"I have lost my voice. I expect Jack Grealish to get drunk with me tonight... that's all I can say. I will speak to the owners tomorrow."

  15. 'It’s a dilemma for the club and for Zaha'published at 18:37 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson on the future of Wilfried Zaha: "It’s a dilemma for the club and for him if he is so set on leaving.

"We still like him very much, we can't make him like us. It’s obviously affected him because his form in the last few weeks has been quite poor considering what he is capable of doing. I don’t have an answer."

Adam Salter: Unlike some clubs, I don’t think anyone could have a bad word to say about Bournemouth and Eddie Howe. Defied the odds to survive, get promoted and to stick around in the Premier League for as long as they did. Good luck to the future, and come back soon!

Absolutely gutted today and heartbroken in many ways. To go down after playing so well isn't nice but I am excited to see Akinfenwa at the Vic and for away days to Rotherham. We will be back. Watford Till I Die.

  17. Farke - Norwich 'scared'published at 18:35 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Man City 5-0 Norwich

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Norwich manager Daniel Farke has just come out with some interesting comments after his side's 5-0 defeat at Manchester City.

The Canaries have lost every single game since the resumption and when he assessed the teams before today's game, he feared the worst.

"I knew today it wouldn’t be competitive against one of the best sides in the world," he said.

"We were not able to fill the whole bench. When you look at their bench to ours you could feel a bit scared. They deserved to win but the score not a fair reflection."

  19. 'I'm devastated for the fans'published at 18:33 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    FT: Everton 1-3 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth captain Steve Cook speaking to Final Score: "This is the only failure that I've experienced at the club, which I think is going to take some time to really sink in. It's been an unbelievable time since I've been here, so to drop out on a point... Overall, we haven't been good enough and the table never lies. I'm extremely disappointed and devastated for the fans that can't be here.

"We haven't scored the first goal enough this year, conceded too many soft goals... It's a ruthless league and you don't often get lucky, and we didn't."

Jamie Vardy with the Golden Boot.

He is the second Leicester player to finish a top flight season as the leading or joint-leading goalscorer, after Gary Lineker (24 in 1984/85, level alongside Chelsea's Kerry Dixon).

And at 33 years old, Vardy is also the oldest winner of the Premier League Golden Boot, taking the record from Didier Drogba, who was 32 when he won the award in 2009/10.
