The club has donated the fines to NHS Grampian.

  2. No knee-jerk signings - Mellonpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Ross County v Dundee Utd (Sat)

Ahead of this Saturday's trip to Dingwall, Dundee United manager Micky Mellon says he won't be rushed into signings at Tannadice despite injured striker Lawrence Shankland potentially missing a third consecutive game.

"We wouldn't just be knee jerk", Mellon said when asked if he would bring in another striker.

Mellon went on encourage the players who are replacing Shankland in the team to take their chance.

"If Lawrence isn't fit, you go and be the man, go and enjoy the chance to be the guy that creates the headlines.

"There's more young players I am going to unleash on you and I'm really excited about it."

United fans, do you feel like the club should be bringing someone in to fill the void?

  5. How is Burke still doing it?published at 13:34 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Like at Fir Park, Ross County and Kilmarnock also played out a four-goal draw on Wednesday.

Ross Draper opened the scoring for the home side before Kilmarnock rallied a second half comeback, with goals from Alan Power and Chris Burke turning the game around before a controversial penalty decision allowed Ross Stewart to level from the spot late on.

County fans, how impressed are you with your side's start to the season?

And Killie fans, are you still wondering how Burke is managing to do it at 36 years of age? We're tried to work it out here by looking at the stats behind the veteran winger's start to the season.

  6. Motherwell and Livi still searching for first winspublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Motherwell welcomed Livingston to Fir Park on Wednesday with both sides looking for their first points of the season.

And they would achieve that, securing a point each after an entertaining 2-2 draw, but there was quite a contrast between both managers at full-time.

David Turnbull's first goal since May 2019 opened the scoring

Livingston boss Gary Holt praised his side's spirit and attitude, whereas Stephen Robinson heavily criticised his players, stating that his team are "playing with seven men every week".

Motherwell fans, when can you see your season turning around with a tough test at Easter Road to come on Saturday?

  7. Three on the bounce for Rangerspublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    rangers celebrationsImage source, SNS

Like Hibs the day prior, Rangers kept their perfect start to the season going on Wednesday as Steven Gerrard's men cruised to a 3-0 win at home to St Johnstone at Ibrox.

Borna Barisic opened the scoring with a trademark free-kick before Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo completed the scoring.

That makes it three games, three wins and three clean sheets for the Ibrox club.

With the prospect of Gerrard's side sitting 11 points clear of Celtic before Neil Lennon's men play again next Saturday, could that shift the mentality in the title race?

  8. Midweek re-cappublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Four games. 12 goals. Two 100% records still intact.

Dundee United and Hibs kicked off the first set of midweek fixtures of the Premiership season, and although it wasn't quite the spectacle some expected, it was a hugely important three points for the Leith club which kept their 100% record going.

Christian Doidge's well taken second half finish was the only goal in a game of few chances, but the victory highlighted a steely side to Jack Ross' men which was missing for large parts of last season.

Hibs fans, are we getting carried away yet?

And United fans, how badly do you need Lawrence Shankland back?

  9. 'I had a couple of offers that weren't right'published at 12:55 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland

The move might have come as a bit of a surprise to some, with O'Donnell previously stating his aspirations to play down south after rejecting a contract at Rugby Park, but the 28-year-old went on to state that any offers he had south of the border weren't quite right.

"I think I was always pretty relaxed that I would have something [after rejecting new deal at Kilmarnock]", O'Donnell added.

"I’d always said I had an interest in going back down south if it was right for myself and my family, and I had a couple of offers that weren’t right.

"It needed to be right for my family first and foremost and I don’t think I could get anymore right than two minutes down the road. I had ideas in my head about what it needed to be and what wasn’t so I was happy with that.

"I could have waited a bit, but I’ve waited enough".

Scotland cap Stephen O'Donnell has been speaking to the media today following the news last night that the former Kilmarnock defender has joined Motherwell until January.

O'Donnell stated the fact that the club is "on his doorstep", as well as the prospect of playing European football was a lure in him signing a short-term deal at Fir Park.

"I've not been playing for four to five months now so I was starting to itch to get back in", said O'Donnell.

"The club is on my doorstep and I know a lot of people involved so I was more than happy, and adding into the mix you’ve got playing in Europe, [the club] finished third last season and they play a good attractive brand of football, on a grass pitch which will be a nice change."

  15. Ajeti hoping to be 'good match' with Edouardpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    ajetiImage source, SNS

Celtic might not be in action on the pitch this week, but they have certainly been getting business done off it after yesterday's announcement that Swiss striker Albian Ajeti signed from West Ham for a fee of £4.5m.

The 23-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Scottish champions, and is hoping to be a "good match" with Odsonne Edouard.

Talking to the media at Celtic Park yesterday, Ajeti added: "I don't have any problem playing in a two or a three or on my own.

"I've played in many different systems. The most important thing is to attack and that's why this is the perfect club for me."

Celtic fans, are we happy with this signing?

  16. Difficult for clubs to police every single individual - Goodwinpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin echoes the views of Robinson, stating that he feels there should be no collective sanctions.

"It's difficult to punish clubs as a whole because of one individual", said Goodwin.

"You could end up with different circumstances at every football club where maybe a certain individual who isn't involved in the first team and doesn't care as much about the situation as everybody else.

    goodwinImage source, SNS

"So I think it would be difficult for clubs to police every single individual and member of staff. It's not just football players and the footballing staff, there's a lot of other staff members at every club.

"We have asked everybody for the time being to stay away from restaurants, pubs and nightclubs, and just make good choices. It's as simple as that."

  17. We've advised our players not to go for coffee - Robinsonpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland

Robinson added that players need to understand that there are jobs on the line if they don't follow the protocol.

"There’s been a warning now and it’s clear", says Robinson.

"It’s a case that they [footballers] need to follow the rules, it’s as simple as that. They have to realise that people’s livelihoods are at stake and the whole football industry is at stake.

"It’s very clear what you are allowed to do and not to do. That’s all you can do is put down rules. We’ve even advised our boys not to go for a coffee. They are grown men, they can think for themselves as well, so they have follow the rules.

"If any of my players step out of line then they’ll be punished deservedly so.”

  18. Individuals should be punished instead of clubs - Robinsonpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland

Speaking to the media this morning, Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson believes players who step out of line while Covid-19 restrictions are still in place, should be punished and not their clubs.

The Motherwell boss insists Premiership sides are doing everything in their power to ensure their staff stick to all the protocols, and says players must take responsibility for their own actions when they’re away from their clubs.

“They know the rules and if they break the rules they should be punished for them like every member of society", said Robinson.

    robinsonImage source, SNS

"The football clubs, industry and staff are doing everything in their power to meet protocols and work with the Scottish government to continue playing football, and we’ve done that.

"But what they do [players] sometimes away from us we can’t control unless you put players in a hotel 24 hours a day and we obviously can’t do that. So they have take responsibility and I think individuals should definitely be punished instead of clubs."

  19. Balogun out for Sundaypublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Livingston v Rangers (Sun)

    leon balogunImage source, SNS

Gerrard also confirmed that Leon Balogun will miss Sunday's trip to Livingston.

The 32-year-old defender, who has impressed so far since signing from Brighton, didn't appear for the second half of Wednesday's 3-0 win over St Johnstone.

"He won't be available for the weekend, he's got a small quad problem", said Gerrard.

"We're still waiting for some scan results to confirm that but he is certainly ruled out for the weekend.

"Filip [Helander] came on and did extremely well and George [Edmundson] has had a real strong pre-season so I'll give it as late as I need to and then make a decision who partners Connor [Goldson] because I think Connor is in excellent form.

"He deserves to keep his place, and I'll make a late decision on Filip and George in the coming days."
