Lets not get carried away with Leeds, how many times have we seen promoted sides look great in the first couple of games before trailing off.

Surely Klopp must now see this as the wake up call..this team has been virtually unchanged for 2 intense seasons, yes 2 amazing seasons but we need to freshen up.

Fabinho on to replace Naby Keita.

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 58 mins

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

    Delayed flag again.

Jack Harrison thinks he has beaten the offside trap and is in on goal.

The Man City loanee lofts the ball over Alisson and Trent Alexander-Arnold can only head the clearance into his own net.

    But it is offside.

Doesn't take long for VAR to confirm either.

Not sure why everyone is so surprised, Liverpool's form wasn't great after the season restart and they have not really strengthened in the transfer market, they won't be champions this year.

    RedDex

I had heard about Leeds and bielsa being a top outfit but hadn't watched much championship football so on first showing here i have to say I'm incredibly impressed, they are pushing the run away premier league champions with more possession, they certainly will do very well this year.

Liverpool looking the greater threat but Leeds United willing to attack every time they get the chance - wonder when we will see big money signing Rodrigo?

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

Liverpool increasing the pressure and you can see Leeds are a little under it at the moment.

A few last ditch tackles and interceptions going in on the edge of the box.

Can they walk through the storm?

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

"Corner taken quickly" by Trent Alexander-Arnold towards the near post but Roberto Firmino's flicked effort deflects away for another set-piece.

Again, TAA delivers with purpose, Virgil van Dijk meets it but plants his header into the Kop.

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

Helder Costa is lively for Leeds.

The former Wolves man wriggles away from two, three Reds defenders but then loses his footing on the edge of the area and screws his shot...for a throw in.

Annie Kennedy: Deffo a fantastic start from Leeds, difficult to call, could go either way, here’s to a fantastic season back in the Premier League

Dave P: A most appropriate hashtag - #LIVLEE. Breathtaking stuff.

Leeds are back, make no mistake.. they are not here to make up the numbers... Leeds mean business

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 49 mins

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

But Liverpool show they too can play pretty football.

Roberto Firmino shows good footwork to evade his marker and cuts the ball across the box for Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman is eight yards out but the ball gets a little caught under his feet and he curls a shot into the grasp of goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

    Liverpool 3-2 Leeds

Leeds are so confident when they have the ball deep in their own half.

Unruffled, they hold it until the last millisecond before clipping the ball away nicely to a team-mate.

    Plenty of triangles going on.

Fahad Khan: Leeds playing like a Champions League team. What beautiful attacking football

Tambuuwal: Even if Wijnaldum stays this season. We still need Thiago Alcantara in our midfield.

  18. 'VAR use was breath of fresh air'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Southampton

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a breath of fresh air.

You knew from the reaction of the players and Jon Moss took his time and acknowledged he had made a mistake.

There wasn't one player who argued. When you have that communication with the referee it's a case of fair enough - we all make mistakes.

The referee has that aid, and he used it brilliantly. They want the help and the ability to make a decision and change their mind. It worked so well and it's such a refreshing change in comparison to how it was last season.

  19. 'We want to aim for the next level'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Southampton

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace midfielder Andros Townsend speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We've added one or two and we have better depth. We had incredible players on the bench today and hopefully it will stand us in better stead for the coming months. It's a great win and hopefully we can build on that."

On linking up with Wilfried Zaha for the goal: "We're worked on our front-four play tirelessly in pre-season, it's no secret we didn't get enough goals. Wilf knows when I get to the byline I'm going to stand it up for him. It's a goal perfectly worked on from the training ground and hopefully we can get a few more."

On Palace's aims this season: "It's only one game and we're not getting carried away but we're aiming to get to the next level as a football club. Hopefully we can have a real go this season."
