    Carlisle 0-0 Southend

Midway through the first half at Brunton Park and it's still goalless with chances at a premium. No shots on target in fact.

The sun is shining though... at least that's one thing the fans inside the ground can enjoy.

What can Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi say at half-time to turn this game around?

Forest are suffering quite the hangover from last season.

Cardiff are comfortable at the break, and deserve their lead.

Kieffer Moore's first two goals for the Bluebirds are the difference.

A free-kick from Luke Freeman is lofted into the Cardiff box.

Alex Smithies confidently comes to claim.

Into two minutes of injury time at the end of the first half.

The break can't come soon enough for the hosts, to give them time to regroup.

  6. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-2 Cardiff

Cardiff forward Sheyi Ojo curls an effort at goal from just outside the box, looking for the bottom left-hand corner.

Brice Samba gathers this one, but the keeper isn't getting much protection from his defence.

    Nottm Forest 0-2 Cardiff

You have to say Nottingham Forest are in a bit of trouble here.

Credit to Cardiff, who have done a very decent job in executing their gameplan.

Forest look listless. Sabri Lamouchi will need a big response after the break or may find himself coming under pressure from the club's owners.

GOAL: Nottm Forest 0-2 Cardiffpublished at 40 mins

    Kieffer Moore

Cardiff get their second of the game and, predictably, it's from another corner.

Forest fail to clear the ball properly and it's lofted back into the box by the visitors.

Centre-back Sean Morrison is still in the mix and flicks the ball on.

Kieffer Moore is on hand to poke in from just inside the six-yard box and double his tally for the afternoon.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

    A let-off for the hosts.

Sheyi Ojo gets in behind the Forest defence and tries to catch Brice Samba out at his near post.

The keeper gets a hand to his effort and it goes behind. Maybe a cut-back would have been a better option for Ojo - the angle was very narrow.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 37 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

Striker Lyle Taylor comes on for the hosts before the break.

Joe Lolley is the man replaced.

That should give Forest more of a physical threat up front. They've barely threatened so far.

Straight down the other end and Kieffer Moore plays in Joe Ralls.

But the Cardiff man cannot get his feet in order in the Forest box, and Red keeper Brice Samba snuffs out the danger.

Striker Lyle Taylor is also getting ready to come on for Forest.

Half an hour gone at the City Ground, and Forest are yet to trouble visiting keeper Alex Smithies.

I don't think he's even had to gather a cross.

  14. League Two game (with fans) under waypublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 19 September 2020

    Carlisle 0-0 Southend

As I just mentioned, there's an early game in England's fourth tier.

Carlisle United and Southend United are just getting started in League Two with a scattering of fans inside Brunton Park.

Both clubs are searching for their first point of the campaign; The Cumbrians lost 3-0 at Cambridge on the opening day, while the Shrimpers went down 4-0 at home against EFL debutants Harrogate last Saturday.

We'll bring you news of any goals in Cumbria.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

Cardiff are mixing it up, alternating between playing it short and going more direct to Kieffer Moore.

A decent cross from Leandro Bacuna looking for the target man is headed away by the Forest defence.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

Junior Hoilett slips Joe Ralls into the Forest box, and Joe Worrall has to be alert to cut out a low ball across the box from the Cardiff man.

Then Jack Colback gets away with a challenge on Hoilett on the edge of the Forest box.

Fans are already beginning to arrive at Carrow Road, one of the two Championship games welcoming back supporters today.

Carlisle against Southend in League Two, which is also allowing up to 1,000 fans inside the ground, gets under way in five minutes.

  18. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

The game has got a bit scrappier in the past five minutes.

They are cancelling each other slightly at the moment, and neither side have been able to build attacking momentum.

  19. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

Forest finally have a spell of possession in the Cardiff half.

Luke Freeman cuts in from the right and curls in another inviting ball with his left foot.

This one is a brilliant delivery and Lewis Grabban gets in behind Sean Morrison to get on the end of it.

But the touch from the striker is too heavy and his effort goes over the bar from close range.

You'd have backed him to score that one.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Cardiff

Luke Freeman puts a ball into the Cardiff box, but centre-back Curtis Nelson is on hand to clear before the cross becomes dangerous.
