Well... that was so, so simple.

Marlon Pack's corner from the right is beautifully lifted to the edge of the six-yard box.

Kieffer Moore easily outmuscles Tobias Figueiredo and rises to head in.

A giveaway from Forest, but Cardiff won't complain.

Time to concentrate on the early kick-off now, and two clubs who will have promotion ambitions after challenging for a place in the Premier League last season.

Nottingham Forest fans will not want to be reminded of the manner in which they dropped out of the top six on the final day of last season.

Cardiff, meanwhile, were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by eventual promotion-winners Fulham - but the Bluebirds gave the Whites a scare in the second leg.

Both clubs lost 2-0 on the opening day - Cardiff were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday, while Forest fell to defeat at QPR.

If there is a winner this afternoon, the beaten manager could find himself under early-season pressure.

Seven EFL games are hosting up to 1,000 fans this weekend, with select clubs taking part in the government's pilot scheme for the return of spectators at sporting events.

The move comes after Cambridge United had a socially-distanced crowd for an EFL Trophy tie against Fulham 11 days ago.

Championship matches at Middlesbrough and Norwich, the League One games at Blackpool, Charlton and Shrewsbury and the League Two encounters at Carlisle and Forest Green will welcome fans.

Hull City were also due to host a pilot event, but the rise in coronavirus cases on Humberside meant the Tigers were not given permission to go ahead.

Hopefully the pilot scheme is a success, and capacity can be increased in the future.
