Scotland manager Steve Clarke on Sky Sports: "They knew they had to get the result and they did everything to get it. We showed good resolution and strength of character.

"Everyone told us before the start of the game that we had to win the game so we win the game. We take the three points and go home.

"We'll probably get a little bit of criticism for the performance but we can work on the performance. That's five games unbeaten. There are some positives there.

"We reacted well (to going behind). We scored a fantastic goal. Pleased to see Lyndon get on the scoresheet. Second half, we got our noses in front. Ryan did what he did so both strikers scored, it's good."

Scotland's Liam Palmer has been speaking post match: "We knew they would be right at it. They had the opportunity to shine and may never play for their country again. We knew we'd have to show a reaction against adversity, the manager talks about it all the time.

"We have four wins from five and top the group. We aimed to do that and to keep the ball rolling."

Scotland's average position map shows Scott McTominay (number two), out on the right-hand side, often separated from his fellow centre-halves Scott McKenna and Liam Cooper.

Norway beat Northern Ireland 5-1.

Scotland captain Andy Robertson on Sky Sports: "Falling behind, we knew they were going to be full of character. They're obviously proud to represent their country.

"It was far from ideal for them but it wasn't ideal for us. A really good defensive display in the last 10 minutes. Three points, we're top of the group and we can't complain. We were probably on a hiding to nothing.

"It's a new system under this manager. Some people expect it just to click overnight but it doesn't happen like that."

Scotland goalscorer Lyndon Dykes on Sky Sports: "It was really good, it's good for a striker to get off the mark. It was good to contribute to the 2-1 win.

"It was a tough game, it was hard conditions with what happened before the game but in the end, we got the three points.

"We always just came in expecting the best. We didn't look at the team any different."
