    Man Utd 0-1 Man City

And now Demi Stokes fires over the bar from the left as City continue to pile on the pressure.

Plenty for United boss Casey Stoney to think about.

  2. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 Man City

City could easily be home and dry already. United are struggling at the back. Another City attack sees Chloe Kelly lift a dangerous cross over from the right, and Sam Mewis looks certain to head home, but she seems to hesitate, leaves it and then a block comes in. I think she got a shout from behind her.

But City are very much on top.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 14 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 Man City

It's so nearly 2-0, as England defender Alex Greenwood's excellent free-kick is superbly clawed away from goal by Mary Earps, just as it looked set to sneak under the crossbar and in.

  4. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Man Utd 0-1 Man City

Gareth Taylor's side look full of confidence now and they're on the attack again, but Demi Stokes' left-wing cross is held by United keeper Mary Earps.

  5. goal

GOAL: Man Utd 0-1 Man Citypublished at 9 mins

    Chloe Kelly

The visitors get the first goal in this derby and it's one the United defence will want to forget. They miss chance after chance to clear the City corner and they're eventually punished. Chloe Kelly tries an acrobatic flick initially, which is blocked, and then the ball is knocked back in to the mixer by Steph Houghton and Kelly gets her foot to the ball first and cleverly flicks it home, in to the top corner.

She shows good skill with the finish itself, but the build-up is a scrappy as anything you'll see all season. United boss Casey Stoney won't be happy.

  6. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

Tobin Heath runs down the hosts' left flank and squares the ball to Ella Toone on the edge of the area, but Toone - who scored last weekend's late winner against Arsenal - lifts a left-footed shot just wide.

  7. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

City's Georgia Stanway uses her strength to keep the ball in play and then lash a shot at goal from a tight angle on the left, but her strike hits the side netting. She had options to square it in the middle, with Ellen White waiting... Chance gone.

  8. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

This is only the second time these local rivals have met in a WSL game. The first came on the opening weekend of last season - City won that one 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Last season's reverse league fixture didn't happen because of the coronavirus outbreak, but City did win on this ground in the 2019-20 Women's FA Cup.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

The hosts and WSL leaders Manchester United get the game started, after everybody takes a knee to show support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

  11. Stoney defends United after Rapinoe criticismpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2020

Man Utd v Man City (12:30 GMT)

Boss Casey Stoney says Manchester United are "doing things the right way" after criticism of the club forming a women's team later than their rivals.

The club were without a women's team for 13 years until 2018, which two-time World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe called "disgraceful".

"She's about two years too late for the comments," said Stoney.

"But people are going to have their say aren't they? It's a big club. When you go to Manchester United, you get used to that.

"Obviously everyone criticised Manchester United for not having a women's team but I know the reasons why. I know why they wanted to do it when they wanted to do, and how they wanted to do it properly.

"It wasn't resourced in terms of staff in at the club beforehand - for it to be able to be done the way it is now - and now I believe we're in a good place. I think we're doing things the right way. I'm immensely proud to be part of this football club."
