Chelsea boss Frank Lampard speaking to BT Sport: "It feels good to get the clean sheet, it's something you always strive for. Thiago Silva was excellent, he has experience and quality. Edouard Mendy had one save to make and he made a good save, he was good with his feet. Against a good team, it was a very organised performance from us.

"Sevilla pose a lot of threat - the crosses and balls into the box, they played really well and they've got quality. We had a few moments in the game, it was cagey and the two teams seemed to be cancelling each other out in the first half which was understandable. We take the point and move on.

"Both teams seemed happy with the point i think. We conceded a goal in the last minute the other day so when you have that feeling fresh in your mind it's not nice. So this game will give us confidence but we haven't' had the personnel in training regularly and the more we have that the better we will get.

"When you play in the Champions League sometimes you rely on a moment but for us tonight it didn't quite come. The last bit wasn't there today, but we can't complain, we've scored a lot of goals in the Premier League so far so we have to be happy with the clean sheet.

"We have to build, it's a long season and we're in the early stage of it - it's a good start in a difficult group."

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on BT Sport: "It's a different feeling from the last time we won here, it's at the start of the group stage but we've beaten a fantastic team. Last time it was a knockout and it was euphoric, this is sterile without the fans but it's still excellent and we deserved to win.

"When you go away to a team like this against Neymar and Mbappe you have to defend well and your keeper will have to make saves. Axel Tuanzebe is a top defender and his first game in 10 months was testament to the quality he has.

"Bruno missed two penalties in a row but he's not going to stop taking them - he showed focus and character.

"We know we need 10 points to get through so next week's game is very important. There are so many games."

Manchester United

It's safe to say the Manchester United pundits in the BT Sport studio were impressed with Marcus Rashford.

Rio Ferdinand: "He can definitely be world class if he keeps improving. He needs to add that poacher’s element to his game. When Wayne Rooney signed for Utd he scored outrageous goals, he didn’t score ugly goals. He became obsessed with scoring. Marcus scores fantastic goals and creates fantastic goals – if he can create that ugly side to the game then this kid can be unbelievable.

"The difference between Rashford and Mbappe is when Mbappe gets the ball I’m on the edge of my seat because he shapes up to go for goal. Marcus will have a look up and think about it a bit more."

Darren Fletcher: "Marcus likes touches and is a great passer of the ball. Mbappe is more direct. Marcus is sometimes looking for the assist first rather than the goal."

Owen Hargreaves: "I don’t know why anyone criticises him [or questions his position]. He’s a marvellous player who is only going to get better."

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell speaking to BT Sport: "The important thing is the clean sheet. We knew people would be looking at us after conceding three goals at the weekend. We were solid defensively against a good team and didn't give them many chances so we'll take a draw and a clean sheet.

"In general as a team it was, I won't say comfortable because we were under pressure at times, but we were organised as a team. I thought defensively we were very good.

"We are a top team and when you're playing for Chelsea you expect clean sheets and if you concede goals you will get criticism. We've been working hard on the training pitch and we've showed that we're a strong outfit defensively.

"It was disappointing to have no fans but as a team the motivation was there regardless of that, especially for people like me who are new to it all."

Manchester United

Manchester United goalscorer Marcus Rashford speaking to BT Sport: "Of course it's a nice feeling. More importantly, we won the game. We're in a strong position now in the group but it's the first game. The concentration levels we showed today we have to take forward into the next game.

"For me, they were both opportunities to win the game. As a striker, in the game late on, that's the mentality. You might only get one chance. It gets us the three points.

"It's a good performance but also one where we have a lot to build on. I always believe in the team. As players it's important to believe in the system that the manager chooses to play. We did that fantastically. It was tough but we kept the intensity high. We had to defend very deep at times. They have some amazing players. In the low block it can be tough but the guys on the sides - the full-backs - they defended unbelievably. When we defend like that man-to-man, we can do really well.

"Every game requires different tactics and a different performance but what has to stay the same is the intensity. The intensity was key for us tonight. We kept going for 90 minutes. We are very happy today."

Chelsea have drawn five of their last eight Champions League home matches, as many as in their previous 33 games in the competition at Stamford Bridge (W23 L5). Meanwhile, this was their first goalless draw in 22 Champions League matches, last playing out a 0-0 in October 2015 (vs Dynamo Kiev).

Chelsea have won just one of their last 10 UEFA Champions League games against Spanish opposition (D6 L3).

Sevilla are unbeaten in the first match of their last five Champions League campaigns (W2 D3), drawing each of their last three.

Sevilla have failed to win any of their last five away games in the group stages of the Champions League (D4 L1) – their joint-longest such run in the competition (also five games between September 2015 and September 2016 – D1 L4).

Chelsea recorded just six shots, their fewest attempts at goal in a Champions League game since February 2015 – against Paris St-Germain (2).

Manchester United deserved it but they didn't start great. PSG started well, they were very assured, some of the moves and passing was great but Man United just let them do it let them do it and then just eased their way into the game. It was well managed by Bruno Fernandes on the pitch and Ole Gunnar Solskjær at the side of the pitch and the players listened to the orders. The way the team was set up and some of the players who missed out may raise some eyebrows but it was very professional tonight from Man United, they got the job done.

Rob: Why is it when our attack turns up our defence is a no show and when our defence turns up our attack is a no show... Is one game where both turn up too much to ask for?
