BBC Sport explores the issue of a potential European Super League. Could it ever become a reality? Do Europe's top clubs want to form one? And would fans be in favour of it happening?
Talks have taken place over the creation of a new £4.6bn European Premier League, involving the top sides from across the continent.
Sources told the BBC that discussions are still at an early stage but the plan would involve replacing the Champions League with a new format.
Industry insiders confirmed talks involved Wall Street bank JP Morgan.
But the project is said to still have a "long way to go" and the deal "may not happen".
Reports suggest five Premier League clubs, including champions Liverpool and Manchester United, have been approached by those behind the plan with more than a dozen teams from England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain in negotiations about becoming founder members of the competition.
Just in case.

That is just absolutely bonkers and one of the best things I've heard all week.
By the way Chelsea fans...
It's just been announced that Petr Cech has been included in the Premier League squad as emergency goalkeeper cover, on a non-contract basis.

Paris St-Germain
Paris St-Germain
Last year's beaten finalists PSG make five changes from the team who thumped Nimes at the weekend.
In come Neymar, Layvin Kurzawa, Danilo Pereira and former United duo Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera.
PSG v Man Utd (20:00 BST)
PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said the challenge for his side is "not to think about" their run to the 2019-20 final, where a 1-0 defeat by German giants Bayern Munich denied the French champions a first Champions League title.
"It was amazing but now it is gone. It is a new page," said Tuchel. "The Champions League is one of the toughest competitions. Whether we are favourites or not doesn't matter."
The German added that Manchester United have "changed a lot" since the two teams last met in 2019, when Solksjaer's side scored an injury-time penalty to record a stunning 3-1 win in Paris and progress on away goals.
"We don't have good memories. In the end, it was not a great outcome," said Tuchel.
"They have new players, more options, more experience. Paul Pogba is a key player - he is one of the best midfielders in the world. Bruno Fernandes has a lot of assists. He is delivering a lot to the really fast players.
"They are one of the best teams in transition. We need to keep the ball and impose our own game on them and prevent the counter-attack."
Chelsea v Sevilla (20:00 BST)

Kepa Arrizabalaga's brief return to Chelsea's first team is over as Edouard Mendy returns from a thigh injury for his side's opening Group E game.
Frank Lampard makes three changes in total - 20-year-old Reece James and Thiago Silva also return as Chelsea look to plug leaks in the defence.
Making way are Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta. Jorginho has the captain's armband.
Chelsea XI: Mendy, James, Thiago Silva, Zouma, Chilwell, Jorginho, Kante, Pulisic, Havertz, Mount, Werner.
Substitutes: Arrizabalaga, Rudiger, Christensen, Abraham, Caballero, Tomori, Kovacic, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Azpilicueta, Emerson.

PSG v Man Utd (20:00 BST)
Manchester United
Manchester United go to a back three, or five, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes three changes to the side which beat Newcastle.
Alex Telles makes a debut at left wing-back as Luke Shaw shuffles across one, while Axel Tuanzebe gets a recall from nowhere to replace Harry Maguire. Anthony Martial also comes in up front.

Barcelona v Ferencvaros (20:00 BST)
Lionel Messi's performances "could be better" but the Barcelona captain is "happy", says new manager Ronald Koeman.
Argentina forward Messi, 33, tried to leave the club this summer and called the transfer saga "a brutal drama".
He has scored once so far this season.
"I don't have any complaints or doubts about his effort," said Koeman.
"Right now his performances could be better. On a day-to-day basis, he's happy and wants to play and be the team's captain."
Dynamo Kyiv 0-1 Juventus
It didn't take long for Juventus to make the breakthrough in the second half. Alvaro Morata is in the right place at the right time to follow up Dejan Kulusevski's saved shot and tap the ball into the roof of the Dynamo Kyiv net.

Chelsea
Keeper Edouard Mendy returns from injury and starts for Chelsea.
Thiago Silva also starts at Stamford Bridge.
Full team news coming up.
Here are the best fixtures of the night:
Dynamo Kyiv 0-0 Juventus
Chelsea v Sevilla (20:00 BST)
Lazio v Borussia Dortmund (20:00 BST)
Barcelona v Ferencvaros (20:00 BST)
Paris St-Germain v Manchester United (20:00 BST)
Dynamo Kyiv 0-0 Juventus
It is half-time in the game between Dynamo Kyiv and Juventus and it would be fair to say the Italian side are missing Cristiano Ronaldo.
While the Portuguese self-isolates following a positive coronavirus test, his side have struggled to break down their opponent. Shots from Federico Chiesa and Ronaldo's replacement Dejan Kulusevski - both saved - are the closest they have come. They've also lost experienced defender Giorgio Chiellini to injury.
The game is Andrea Pirlo's first as a manager in the Champions League and brings him up against Mircea Lucescu, the man who gave him his professional as a 16-year-old when the pair were at Brescia in 1995.
It's been 58 days since Bayern Munich were crowned champions of last season's Champions League.
More importantly, it's been 58 days since Lucas Hernandez posed for a photo like this.
It feels like it's hardly been away, but the Champions League is officially BACK.
And we're kicking it off with an absolute belter of a match between last season's runners-up Paris St-Germain and English giants Manchester United.
Chelsea are also up against Europa League serial winners Sevilla.
Kylian Mbappe and co. will be on show, as well as Lionel Messi, whose Barcelona side take on Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus have already kicked off against Dynamo Kyiv (it's currently 0-0) and Borussia Dortmund are in action too.
A feast.
