Jose Mourinho - Nobody plays better than us with the ball

Tottenham have been dogged by the label "Spursy" for years - a term used to describe the club's habit of letting leads slip or choking.

Jose Mourinho even mentioned the word at his pre-match news conference on Wednesday after he was asked about his side's defensive implosion against West Ham last weekend.

Spurs were forced to settle for a point after leading 3-0.

"We can play 50 more matches and it's not going to happen again," said Mourinho.

"I don't want to be sticking on this. No stories about 'Spursy' and this kind of thing. We just need to defend better from set-pieces."

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 22 October 2020

    Standard Liege 0-1 Rangers

So far, so impressive from Steven Gerrard's side who lead in Belgium. The hosts did hit the bar right at the end of that half but it would not have counted - handball.

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal have work to do in the second half.

They're not moving the ball around quick enough and they've only managed one attempt on target.

Rapid are making them work hard.

  8. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

Three-one to Arsenal in yellow cards.

The game is stopped to allow Bukayo Saka to receive treatment but he's back on his feet after treatment.

Rapid Vienna carve out another chance when Ercan Kara cleverly turns David Luiz in the box before rolling his effort narrowly wide.

Roma are losing in Switzerland as an early penalty has Young Boys ahead, while Bayer Leverkusen are 2-1 up on Nice. Which is nice.

The highly-rated Amine Gouiri has got one back for the French side.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 39 mins

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

    Another Arsenal booking.

Eddie Nketiah is the latest to get into trouble with the referee for kicking the ball away.

I love Nketiah but that was silly.

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

    A rare save!

Bernd Leno is forced into action by Taxiarchis Fountas but it's comfortable for the keeper.

Arsenal haven't got going. I imagine Mikel Arteta won't be mincing his words at half-time.

Another meaty challenge. Alexandre Lacazette is down after Maximilian Hofmann tramples on his left foot. No yellow.

It's not quite clicking for the Gunners.

Loads of effort, loads of possession. Just one effort on target so far.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 28 mins

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

It's a frustrating night so far for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners skipper protests but the referee is having none of it.

A beautiful delivery by Cedric Soares into the danger area but Alexandre Lacazette cannot connect.

Arsenal are getting some decent crosses in but they are struggling to test keeper Richard Strebinger.

  18. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

    Rapid Vienna 0-0 Arsenal

It sounds like there's 50,000 in the ground as Marcel Ritzmaier forces Bernd Leno into his first save after a free-flowing move from the hosts.

It's comfortable for Leno in the end but that could have been disaster for the Gunners after they were opened up at the back.

The Gunners are warming to this.
