  1. 'Aubameyang is looking positive'published at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

    Arsenal v Olympiakos (17:55 GMT)

    Arsenal

Some more quotes from Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to BT Sport: "He (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) looked really positive and happy in the last two days in training. It is about performing now. We play so many games in the last nine days. We have a game on Sunday too. We have to put out players who are fit. Saka was not fit to start today."

On losing to Olympiakos last season: "It was cruel and took a while to get through that one. We showed in the first game that is over. This is the second half of the tie and we have to win again."

On game management: "It is crucial when you come to tight moments with goal difference and score. We will hopefully have learned as we have spoken a lot about it in the last few days."

There's no Son Heung-min for Tottenham of course this evening, which is quite a blow given he's scored in each of his last three away starts in Europe and works so well in tandem with Harry Kane.

Kane and Son have combined for 14 goals this season - a Premier League record between two players, while the South Korea forward has registered 18 goals in all comps this term.

Still Harry Kane is fit, raring to go and no doubt keen to add to his tally of 26 goals for the season.

  3. 'We have a job to finish'published at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Dinamo Zagreb v Tottenham (17:55 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho to BT Sport: "We know 2-0 is a open result so the game is on and I believe Dinamo are going to try to show a bit more than they did in our stadium where we were able to dominate them.

"So we have come with a strong team, the players know we have to take it seriously otherwise we will be in trouble.

"[Harry] Winks is working well and hard and had a positive game against Crystal Palace. We believe he can give us a little bit more aggression and intensity to help Harry [Kane], Dele [Alli] Lucas [Moura] and [Erik] Lamela to express their quality.

"If you get into the last eight I believe that anyone who is there will be a strong team and a team that will try to win. So now we are not very far from the last eight that is the objective but we have a job to finish."

Arsenal v Olympiakos (3-1 on aggregate)

    Image caption,

Will Olympiakos end Arsenal's Europa League hopes for a second year in a row?

Arsenal will only have to cast their minds back a year to know they can't get complacent.

They were paired with Olympiakos again in the Europa League, this time in the last 32, and won 1-0 in Greece but lost 2-1 at the Emirates to go out on away goals.

Speaking on Wednesday, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said his side still had a lot of work to do and added: "From what I’ve seen from Olympiakos and the amount of games they've won in the final minutes and the belief they have, it will be tough and they will try to put us under real pressure. There is still a lot to play for.

“It's a really important game for us, nothing has been decided – there is still another 90 minutes at least to play for and we know it's going to be tough and everyone has to be ready."

Dinamo Zagreb v Tottenham, Agg 0-2 (17:55 GMT)

Now for the not so good stuff:

    • Dinamo Zagreb have lost just one of their last 16 European home games (incl. qualifiers) which was a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League group stages in December 2019 (W11 D4).

Some good omens here Tottenham fans:

    • Tottenham have progressed from each of their previous three knockout ties in the Europa League when they’ve won the first leg – against Lyon and Inter Milan in 2012-13, and RZ Pellets WAC earlier this season.
    • Spurs have won three of their last five away matches in the knockout stages of major European competitions (Lost two), having been winless in 11 such games prior to this run.

Despite his side holding a comfortable lead in the tie and Dinamo Zagreb boss Zoran Mamic having a jail term for fraud confirmed, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho reckons there's still all to play for this evening.

He said: "I don't think it's such a good lead. I feel it's open, I don't feel it's game over, if we go away lose 2-0 and play the second leg at home, I don't feel it's over.

"I feel very difficult but open, so the way to approach the game is to think that way and that we still have a match to play and to get a positive result.

"At the end of the 90 minutes, if we lose 1-0 or 2-1 or even 3-1, we would qualify but if we qualify with a defeat in this game, I'd not be happy. That's the way I want the players to think and that's the way we want to play.

"We don't go there to defend a lead, we go there to win a game."

  11. First leg: Rangers get away goal as they drawpublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Rangers v Slavia Prague (20:00 GMT, 1-1 on aggregate)

Rangers recovered from an early setback to earn a creditable away draw to Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

Steven Gerrard's side trailed after just six minutes when Nicolae Stanciu thumped in a stunning opener.

But Filip Helander tapped home a vital away goal to level before half-time. The strike - which came against the run of play - could prove crucial in the tie.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor ensured the score remained level with an outrageous diving save in the final minute after a thundering header.

  12. First leg: Man Utd concede late equaliserpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

AC Milan v Manchester United (20:00 GMT, 1-1 on aggregate)

Manchester United's defensive vulnerabilities returned as AC Milan grabbed an injury-time equaliser in their Europa League last-16 first-leg tie at Old Trafford.

Amad Diallo's stunning header five minutes into the second half looked like giving United a first-leg lead.

But Milan, who had already been harshly denied a goal when Franck Kessie's first-half volley was ruled out for handball, replied when Simon Kjaer evaded the attentions of Nemanja Matic at a corner right at the death and steered a near-post header past Dean Henderson's weak attempt to save.

It was tough luck on Diallo, who scored in quite brilliant fashion with his first effort on goal in only his third appearance for the Red Devils.

The Ivorian raced on to Bruno Fernandes' brilliant chipped pass five minutes after replacing Anthony Martial at half-time, then, with his back to goal close to the penalty spot, looped the ball over Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the net.

  13. First leg: Kane double puts Spurs in controlpublished at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Dinamo Zagreb v Tottenham (0-2 on aggregate)

Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur put one foot in the Europa League quarter-finals with a clinical display against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.

Kane opened the scoring with a 25th-minute rebound before doubling Spurs' advantage with a composed low finish in the 70th minute.

But the Tottenham striker was unable to complete his hat-trick, limping off late on with a knock to his knee, although it was nothing too serious as he played against Arsenal at the weekend and starts again tonight.

  14. First leg: Odegaard shines for Gunners in Greecepublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Arsenal v Olympiakos (3-1 on aggregate)

Martin Odegaard set Arsenal on their way to a commanding first-leg victory over Olympiakos in their Europa League last-16 tie.

The Norwegian opened the scoring with a powerful 20-yard drive, with Gabriel restoring their lead after a defensive error allowed Youssef El Arabi to equalise for the hosts.

An otherwise excellent evening for the Gunners was rounded off by Mohamed Elneny's superb long-range strike late on.

With three valuable away goals, Mikel Arteta's side are well placed to avoid a repeat of their dramatic exit to the Greek champions last term.

Jose Mourinho promised Harry Kane would start for Tottenham in Zagreb despite a slight knee issue and he has proven true to his word.

Spurs, of course, are without Son Heung-min after the South Korea striker suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's north London derby defeat by Arsenal and Mourinho makes seven changes from that game.

Erik Lamela is rewarded with a start after his rabona goal against the Gunners - and despite his red card - while Serge Aurier, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Dele Alli also come in.

Gareth Bale is among the Spurs substitutes, along with Giovani Lo Celso, who could feature for the first time since December after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Sissoko, Winks, Lamela, Alli, Moura, Kane.

Subs: Hart, Doherty, Reguilon, Alderweireld, Bale, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Tanganga, Ndombele, Vinicius, Scarlett, Lavinier.

Dinamo Zagreb caretaker boss Damir Krznar makes just one change from the first-leg 2-0 defeat as Bartol Franjic comes in for Marin Leovac at the back.

Dinamo Zagreb XI: Livakovic, Ristovski, Lauritsen, Theophile-Catherine, Franjic, Majer, Jakic, Ademi, Ivanusec, Petkovic, Orsic.

Subs: Zagorac, Josipivic, Gavranovic, Cabraja, Kastrati, Leovac, Tolic, Burton, Misic, Stojanovic, Peric, Atiemwen.

    Arsenal v Olympiakos (17:55 GMT)

    ArsenalImage source, BBC Sport

Five changes for Arsenal from the side that beat Tottenham in Sunday's north London derby. The most notable is the one that sees Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang return having been dropped for a "breach of pre-match protocol". He replaces Alexandre Lacazette.

In midfield, Mohamed Elneny and Dani Ceballos replace Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard. Nicolas Pepe is in for Bukayo Saka.

The final change sees Hector Bellerin start at right-back in place of Cedric Soares.

Arsenal: Leno, Bellerin, Luiz, Gabriel, Tierney, Elneny, Xhaka, Pepe, Ceballos, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang.

Subs: Ryan, Okonkwo, Holding, Chambers, Soares, Mari, Partey, Nelson, Martinelli, Nketiah, Lacazette.

Olympiakos make five changes from the team that beat Larisa in their last match.

Ousseynou Ba comes in to defence, with Oleg Reabciuk at left wing-back. Mady Camara starts in midfield, while top-scorer Youssef El-Arabi returns in attack, where he is joined by Giorgos Masouras.

Ex-Gunner Sokratis and former Watford player Jose Holebas both start in defence.

Olympiakos: Sa, Sokratis, Ba, Holebas, Reabciuk, Camara, M'Vila, Fortounis, Androutsos, Masouras, El Arabi.

Subs: Karargyris, Tzolakis, Drager, Lala, Bouchalakis, Vrousai, Randjelovic, Bruma, Sourlis.
