    Derby 0-0 Watford

Watford wing-back Kiko Femenia crosses but it's behind both targets in the box.

    Quality is lacking severely.

Derby's last game was a bit like this and they nicked it with a late Wayne Rooney free-kick...

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

We finally have our first player change.

Derby bring on Wales winger Tom Lawrence for Duane Holmes, who spurned the best chance of the first half.

Meemop: There is a bottle of wine in my fridge that has far more chance of flowing than any goals in this game at this rate

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 60 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

Watford want a penalty for handball against George Evans but the ref isn't interested.

It's a Nathaniel Chalboah half-volley which powers against Evans' arm.

The arm isn't far from the ball - is it in an unnatural position? Maybe. Derby maybe a tad lucky.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 58 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

Watford winger Ken Sema gets the better of George Evans out wide and the Derby man sees yellow for a foul.

The visitors can get the ball into the box here.

  6. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

We need to see some changes here to ignite this game.

There's very little in the way of goalmouth action, with both teams wasteful in possession.

  7. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

Watford defender Ben Wilmot plays a lovely through ball for Joao Pedro but the forward is correctly flagged offside.

The Derby backline looked fast asleep there though. A bit of a warning.

If you're thinking this game is destined to end goalless, here's a reason to stay tuned...

In 20 previous away league matches against Derby, Watford have never kept a single clean sheet, letting in 16 goals in their past five visits.

The goals will flow soon enough!

  9. Second halfpublished at 46 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

We have our first substitution - one of the assistant referees has had to be replaced at half-time with a calf injury.

If the game stays like this for much longer I'm sure Phillip Cocu and Vladimir Ilic will also look to make changes.

Wayne Rooney gets the second half started for Derby.

Mark G: Both my club and Watford have turned up to bore the other team into submission. This is the slowest Derby team for 30 years.

I've tried not to get too bogged down in the Project Big Picture stories that have dominated the news agenda this week, but here's where we're up to after several days of opinion and manoeuvring...

English Football League clubs have rejected the Premier League's proposed £50m rescue package for League One and Two clubs, saying it "falls some way short" of the required amount.

The offer was made after top-flight clubs decided not to pursue Project Big Picture.

The EFL said any settlement "must meet the requirements of all 72 clubs".

  12. More to come on Saturdaypublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 16 October 2020

    HT: Derby 0-0 Watford

We'll be back for more EFL action on Saturday, with the Championship's five remaining unbeaten sides all playing.

Can Bristol City and Reading continue their 100% starts? Will Wycombe and Nottingham Forest - now managed by Chris Hughton - get off the mark?

Fear not - there's still 45 minutes for things to change at Pride Park.

And look what's still to come this weekend...

No time added on. No shots on target.

Duane Holmes had the only chance of note - his effort too high when well-placed after a pass from Wayne Rooney.

    This can only get better.

  15. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

Skipper Tom Cleverley has a long-range effort for Watford which rather sums up this first half.

High, wide and not at all handsome.

  16. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

    So much better from Derby!

Tom Cleverley plays a loose pass and the hosts attack with intent.

Wayne Rooney's cutback finds Duane Holmes who takes a touch and fires over - not by too much.

  17. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

Not for the first time, a Ken Sema cross doesn't beat the first man and Watford are left disappointed.

There's a bit of ebb and flow but nothing's happening in the final third.

  18. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

A Derby supporting friend of mine is on a third date and has managed to get this game on the TV in the background.

Hopefully this match isn't a sign of how the evening is going!

Ben Wilmot gets to the byline for Watford but can only pick out Derby keeper David Marshall with his attempted cross.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Derby 0-0 Watford

    This isn't great.

Watford have plenty of young talent in their side but you can't help but feel they're missing a Troy Deeney, Andre Gray or Glenn Murray type figure.

    Murray is on the bench.

    Derby 0-0 Watford

A lack of communication costs Derby there.

Wayne Rooney plays in a sumptuous cross but Curtis Davies makes a hash of it when team-mate George Evans was lurking behind in a better position.

Not much being created from open play by either side.
