Bournemouth get us back under way.

One change at the break and it's Etienne Capoue on for James Garner in the Watford midfield.

Garner was on a booking and I didn't think we'd see him after the break, which makes this the first time I've been right about anything in quite some time.

A reminder that the game at Vicarage Road is just the first of 11 games in the Championship today.

As well as the early Championship game at Vicarage, there were also a couple of 13:00 BST kick-offs elsewhere in the English Football League.

In League One, mid-table sides Gillingham and Fleetwood Town are currently locked at 0-0.

And, in League Two, the match between Exeter City and Scunthorpe United has also yet to produce a goal.

A decent first half at Vicarage Road sees the hostslead 1-0.

Stipe Perica marked his first start for the club with a close range finish to round off good play from Craig Cathcart and Ismaila Sarr.

The Cherries have come into it though and sub Dominic Solanke has had a couple of decent sights at goal.

There's also been a fair few heavy challenges going in from both sides.

That's not a good challenge from Bournemouth midfielder Phillip Billing.

He catches Tom Cleverley high up on the thigh.

Moments later Watford midfielder James Garner, who is on a booking, makes his third foul of the half. Not sure we'll see him after the break.

It's the England international who wins the corner and eventually the ball is recycled back into the area and the striker has a clear sight on it but mistimes his header.

Bournemouth on the front foot again.

The ball eventually breaks to Lewis Cook 30 yards or so from goal and he moves forward before slashing miles over.

Bournemouth win a dangerous free-kick right on the edge of the Watford area.

Arnaut Danjuma, who won it, blasts it straight into the Hornets wall.

Watford midfielder James Garner, who is on a booking for a foul on Phillip Billing, clashes with the Denmark international midfielder again.

The referee plays advantage and it comes to nothing but the young Manchester United loanee really has to be cleverer than that.

The visitors are growing into this now.

They force a couple of corners but the Watford defence stand up to them.

Bournemouth's first big chance comes the way of striker Dominic Solanke.

He shows good feet receiving the ball on the half-turn but his shot from 18 yards out is straight at Ben Foster in the Watford goal.

There's been a bit of an edge about this game since Lloyd Kelly's very early booking for a poor challenge on Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

Hornets midfielder James Garner is the other player to be shown a yellow card so far today.

Good counter-attack from Bournemouth ends with them winning their first corner of the game.

It's aimed in for defender Chris Mepham but he can't get a clean contact on it.

The visitors are forced into a very early change as midfielder Jefferson Lerma makes way for striker Dominic Solanke.

Lerma looked to just tweak his hamstring.

That's going to mean a change in formation for the Cherries.

Watford winger Ismaila Sarr was linked with a move away from the club in the summer but on this showing so far today they'll be delighted he's still there.

The Senegalese was on the receiving end of a very poor challenge from Lloyd Kelly in the opening moments but he's bounced back and looked dangerous every time he's been on the ball.

The assist for Stipe Perica's goal was top class.

Watford win the first corner of the game after a move down their left.

James Garner swings it into the near post but it is easily headed away.

Few early challenges going in from both sides.

These two teams are separated by just a point in the embryonic Championship table.

Very early yellow card for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, who scythes down Ismaila Sarr 40 yards from the Watford goal.

It's a very nasty challenge and Sarr remains down. Could well have been a red.
