    Adebayo AkinfenwaImage source, Rex Features

Adebayo Akinfenwa, making his first start of the season in the Championship for Wycombe, told Sky Sports before kick-off:

“For myself personally its been a long road. It’s my first start in the Championship, it’s my first start in - I can’t even remember!

“I’m going to enjoy the game, I won’t enjoy running in the channels but I’ll enjoy the game. I’ve been waiting 20 years for this moment.

“The boys keep me young, I give them the experience, they give me the youth and energy. It’s good to be back. How fit am I? I’ll tell you after the game.

"We were very unlucky to not get anything from Norwich. Hopefully tonight’s the night and if not, we’ll go again on Saturday. We’re embracing the battle, we’re embracing the struggle.”

  8. goal

Conor Chaplin with the second for the Tykes, firing past the keeper after Clark Odour pulls it back for him.

Could they be on their way to a first win of the season?

    League One update

Charlton Athletic are ahead against Oxford United, with Conor Washington getting the goal for the Addicks.

U's boss Karl Robinson is back at The Valley, where he spent 16 months in charge before his move to the Kassam Stadium.

Oxford have had a stop-start campaign, with three games postponed because of positive coronavirus tests - including their derby against Swindon on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Kane Hemmings has equalised for bottom club Burton at Peterborough.

    Neil WarnockImage source, Rex Features
    Image caption,

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock has won eight promotions as a manager, a fact he has been known to mention occasionally

Don't say it too loudly but Middlesbrough are unbeaten since an opening day loss at Watford.

Admittedly Neil Warnock's men have drawn four of their six other games but victory tonight would propel them up to the play-off places.

Has Warnock got another promotion in him?

Opponents Coventry have won just one of their opening seven games and had to play with 10 men for most of Saturday's 4-0 home defeat by Blackburn.

    Swansea v Stoke (19:45 GMT)

    Steven FletcherImage source, Rex Features
    Image caption,

Stoke striker Steven Fletcher has scored two in his past three matches but starts on the bench tonight

These two teams were relegated from the Premier League together in 2017-18.

It's fair to say the Swans have adapted to life in the EFL better than the Potters, as they secured a 10th-placed finish in 2019-20 followed by sixth last season.

The Potters meanwhile have laboured to 16th and 15th placed finishes.

It looks like this season could be different for them at least, with both sides going into tonight's match with a record of three wins, three draws and just one defeat from their opening seven games.

  13. goal

    Cauley Woodrow pen (27 mins)

    The Tykes take the lead!

Cauley Woodrow dispatches it into the top left.

It was all QPR but Barnsley have advantage against 10 men now.

    League Two update

Is tonight the night that Barrow secure their first win since their return to the EFL?

They are 2-0 at Mansfield after Patrick Brough lashed in from 25 yards.

Then again, the Cumbrians were 3-0 up against Bolton a week ago and then drew 3-3 - so let's not count our chickens yet.

Fourth-placed Forest Green lead at home against Grimsby, with Jake Young grabbing the opener.

  15. PENALTY TO BARNSLEY & RED CARDpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Barnsley 0-0 QPR

It's a double hit for QPR as Rob Dickie fouls Cauley Woodrow in the penalty area and receives a straight red card.

Woodrow will take the spot kick...

  16. Pointless Chairboys host stung Hornetspublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Wycombe v Watford (19:45 GMT)

    Gareth AinsworthImage source, Rex Features

It's been an unforgiving start to life in the Championship for Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe Wanderers.

They conceded an injury-time winner at Norwich on Saturday which means they go into tonight's game against Watford with a record of played seven, lost seven.

Their visitors tonight also saw a stoppage time goal go against them on Saturday as Chris Mepham rescued a point for Bournemouth.

Ominously for the hosts, that was just the third goal that Watford have conceded in their opening seven matches.

Wycombe give a first start of the season to striker Adebayo Akinfenwa as they look to break down this mean Hornets defence.

Peterborough United are on course for a sixth straight win, with Jonson Clarke-Harris putting Posh ahead against Burton.

Callum Reilly has netted with a low shot from a narrow angle to give AFC Wimbledon the lead at home against Blackpool.

The Dons are playing the final match of their groundshare at QPR before moving in to their new stadium at Plough Lane a week today.

They've not won a league game at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium so far.

  18. Postpublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Barnsley 0-0 QPR

QPR are dominating things so far and are applying pressure early on but have created very little.

Barnsley are struggling to get out of their own half.

  19. Postpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    League Two update

Cambridge United striker Paul Mullin is the top scorer in the EFL, and has bagged another to give the U's the lead at Walsall.

He has slotted in a penalty after Luke Hannant was fouled.

That's Mullin's 11th league goal of the campaign, in just nine appearances.

Barrow, still looking for a first win since their return to the EFL, have gone 1-0 up at Mansfield, with Bradley Barry the goalscorer.

And Nathan Delfouneso has put Bolton ahead against Bradford.

That one was a real comedy of errors. After a lobbed attempt hit the crossbar, a Bantams defender headed back against his own bar before Delfouneso tucked in the loose ball.

  20. Bees look to bounce back against on-song Canariespublished at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2020

    Brentford v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

    NorwichImage source, Rex Features

It's been a topsy-turvy start to the season for Brentford.

Last season-beaten play-off finalists have won three and lost three of their opening seven matches, including Saturday's 3-2 reverse at Stoke.

Norwich, who slumped out of the Premier League in 2019-20, took a little while to find their feet back in the second tier but three successive victories, all courtesy of late winners, mean they could go second tonight.
