    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Everything is going through Lionel Messi for Barcelona at the start of this second half.

The Argentine is floating between the lines and dropping deep when needed to get his side moving again.

    Getafe just aren't budging.

There are no half-time changes to report from either dressing room.

Barcelona have begun the second half as they finished the first, knocking the ball around nicely while remaining under constant pressure from Getafe.

The visitors have enjoyed over two-thirds of the ball but Getafe have still had their moments on the break despite Barca's domination.

    HT: Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

A winner for either Getafe or Barcelona in the second half would see them move level with Real Madrid, Cadiz and Granada on 10 points at the top of La Liga.

Hopefully we'll have at least one goal to shout about in the next 45 minutes.

  6. Postpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    HT: Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona have had the better chances and Ronald Koeman will feel confident his side can find a way to win this, but it has been far from fluent as the visitors look to move joint-top of La Liga.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Getafe have a free-kick on the right as Clement Lenglet is penalised for a handball as he went to block Damian Suarez's cross.

The cross travels straight out for a goal-kick and that will be the end of the first half action.

  8. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

... But it's a weak attempt by Lionel Messi's standards and David Soria is able to comfortably catch the Argentine's curled attempt.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 41 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona have a free-kick a couple of metres outside the Getafe penalty area.

    It's certainly Lionel Messi territory...

  10. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona are still technically waiting for their first shot on target, with Lionel Messi's strike against the post the closest they have come so far.

It's a case of so far, so good for Getafe as we approach the interval.

  11. Postpublished at 36 mins

Lionel Messi stands over a free-kick midway into the Getafe half and floats the ball into the penalty area, but Clement Lenglet is flagged for offside as he attempts to bring it down.

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele earns a free-kick for his side but Barcelona are forced back by Getafe who have everyone behind the ball.

Pedri, Barca's bright spark so far, picks up possession but is unable to unlock the hosts' defence and eventually gets crowded off the ball.

  13. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

    Ah, Antoine.

Antoine Griezmann is played through by Pedri but the Frenchman blazes his shot over the bar.

You would expect him to do much, much better from there.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 27 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Jaime Mata gets a yellow card for catching Clement Lenglet in the face, and team-mate Erick Cabaco soon joins him with a late challenge on Pedri.

It was a lovely run by Barca's 17-year-old prior to that foul.

They do swing the free-kick in to the box - but Barcelona hold their line and there's no way through for Getafe.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 23 mins

Sergi Roberto and Lionel Messi link up nicely down the right but Messi is unable to pick out a pass into the middle.

Gerard Pique then concedes a free-kick - and a yellow card - for a foul on Cucho Hernandez.

Getafe will have the chance to whip a cross into the area from this...

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20 mins

Nemanja Maksimovic has a shot saved by Neto and moments later down at the other end Lionel Messi sees his low, curled effort strike the post.

  18. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

No shots to report after 16 minutes doesn't bode well...

Barcelona are dominating posession as you would expect but Getafe look ever so slightly more threatening currently.

  19. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Juan Hernandez heads on for strike partner Jaime Mata following Getafe goalkeeper David Soria's kick but he doesn't have enough support and fails to make anything of it.

  20. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

It's all got a little bit slow but Getafe have a free-kick deep in the Barcelona half following a foul by Sergino Dest.

It's whipped in and sent straight out for an actual corner which Gerard Pique heads out of his goalkeeper's hands - but the visitors eventually clear.
