  2. Players 'have all got jobs' outside of footballpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2020

    Oxford City 2-1 Northampton

Oxford City manager David Oldfield tells BT Sport: "We know how good Northampton are and I am very proud of our boys to come from a goal down and get over the line.

"James Roberts has been brilliant, he has scored penalties for us before and is very important to us. Josh Ashby was ice cold from his one.

"We were unbeaten through lockdown. The boys have been working hard, they have all got jobs and came here after working today so it is huge credit to them. It is fabulous to see.

"I don;t think we will fear Shrewsbury, but they will not fear us either. We have to work as hard as we can together. We can't think about that yet, we just have to be excited and it is sad for the fans they cannot be here."

  3. 'We got what we deserved'published at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2020

    Oxford City 2-1 Northampton

Man of the match James Roberts of Oxford City tells BT Sport: "Obviously underdogs coming into it and coming up against league opposition, we did a lot of due diligence on them and we knew if we matched them we could get something from the game. Thankfully we did.

"The first was a team goal and I was lucky enough to be there to nod it in. That says everything about the team, even against opposition higher than us, we do not give up.

"The FA Cup throws up different results and is a one-off game, we turned up today and we worked hard. We got what we deserved.

"It is part and parcel of the game, (missing a penalty). You get your head back up and my good friend Josh Ashby dug me out of there.

"We don't fear anyone, you have to stick to your way of playing and Shrewsbury is a good tie and we focus on the league now until that game.

"We are a new group, it is never going to go smoothly and the fans will get back in soon enough. That one was for them."

I wish Canvey Island hadn't been brought up... I taped the game while I worked my Sunday job at a supermarket, and then sat through a horrendous 2 hours when I got home. A waste of time and electricity that still rankles well over a decade later.

Oh dear, that sums Northampton's performance right up.

Ricky Holmes gets the big build-up but scuffs a harmless effort straight into the wall.

Not a great challenge by Oxford City skipper Joe Oastler, lunging in on Ricky Holmes and the Cobblers have a free-kick right on the edge of the box.

Dire stuff from the Cobblers, but every league club has got one of these games in them. I remember us (Bournemouth) putting in a woeful performance against Blyth Spartans , FA cup 2008. Fast forward 12 years on and we were disappointed at getting relegated from the Premier League! Anything is possible... NB - Oxford , like Blyth totally deserve this.

    Was that the chance?

Sub Ricky Holmes being a nuisance in the final third, allowing a ball to drop loose for the oncoming Sam Hoskins, but the low 25-yard drive is well gathered low down by goalkeeper Ben Dudzinski.

Great handling, it was travelling and he didn't spill it.

Not sure how bad that is, but this has been awful from Northampton.

    Poor, poor, poor.

    Straight into the goalkeeper's hands.

10 to go, I'm fine with this result. No extra-time, no penalties, straight to bed.

Ok, Northampton have a free-kick in a decent position.

Can they make anything of it?

The chance keep coming for Oxford City, they need to take one and put the game to bed.

Again, Lewis Coyle finds space on the edge of the box but cannot find the target with his left-footed strike.
