Quote MessageThe arm is so far away from his body, it's as clear a penalty as they come. It's a good penalty from Tavernier and a brilliant start from Rangers
Standard Liege 0-1 Ranges
Rangers are looking good and Ianis Hagi tries a speculative 25-yard drive that curls outward and wide.
James Tavernier
James Tavernier is his normal lethal self from the penalty spot and his low effort evades the fingertips of goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart.
Another great start to a European game from Rangers.
Standard Liege 0-0 Rangers
The referee points to the spot as Connor Goldson rises to meet a corner and the centre-half's header down strikes the hand of Noe Dussenne.
The Belgian defender receives a yellow card for complaints that are to no avail.

Quote MessageRyan Jack does so well to stop a break from Liege there. That's why Rangers' full-backs are so good going forward, because they have that cover behind them
Standard Liege 0-0 Rangers
First decent attack from Rangers and only a last ditch clearance prevents the ball falling at the feet of Ryan Kent after James Tavernier makes a mess of his attempt at a shot.
Standard Liege 0-0 Rangers
Liege have switched from their normal 3-5-2 formation.
Having seen Celtic eased aside by Rangers using that system at the weekend, they have gone for a 4-3-3.
Will that require a change by Rangers manager Steven Gerrard in response?
Standard Liege 0-0 Rangers
It is a bit strange to be hearing some real life crowd noises instead of what has become the norm recently - recorded sound affects.
Rangers will be hoping to keep the few thousand home fans quiet, but the home side are coming more and more into the game.

Quote MessageLiege went direct there. That was something Celtic never did at the weekend. That might be the way to exploit this Rangers defence
Standard Liege 0-0 Rangers
A bit of pressure from the home side after an impressive start by the visitors and Selim Amallah takes a sore one on the head as Rangers' James Tavernier clears.
Standard Liege v Rangers (17:55)
Rangers get the game under way, playing in their change strip of all white, with Liege all in black.

Quote MessageThe one thing I felt was missing from this Rangers team was that iron will mentality, to win at all costs. It seems like this group of players has began to develop that

Yes, a small selection of fans have been allowed into the stadium tonight...

But first up, we'll concentrate on the action in Belgium as the teams emerge from the tunnel...
Celtic v AC Milan (20:00)
Celtic later host a Milan side who are now unbeaten in 24 outings and who have won 13 in a row - the latest a win over city rivals Internazionale.
They were banned from European football last season due to financial irregularities and haven't had an impact in the Champions League for many years, but they will be a major threat in this year's Europa League, let alone in Celtic's group.
In contrast, Saturday's defeat at home to Rangers ended a run of eight consecutive wins since a 2-1 home defeat by Ferencvaros in Champions League qualifying.
Indeed, Celtic have only beaten AC once in 10 meetings.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells BT Sport: "The players are in a good place. They are full of belief, but that doesn't take anything away from how big a test this is tonight. Standard Liege a good team and they are in good form.
"Without a doubt we're going to have to be really organised out of possession, but they are a team that give you chances as well. It's important we get our game plan right, but I'm confident, if we do, we can create a bit of a shock tonight."
He explains that centre-half Filip Helander, who impressed against Celtic at the weekend, drops to the bench because he "is carrying a bit of a knock".
