    FT: Coventry City 3-2 Reading

A lively last 20 minutes or so at St Andrew's in that one.

Reading looked set to maintain their fine start when Lucas Joao levelled it on 70 minutes.

But Matt Godden and Sam McCallum stretched the hosts' lead to 3-1.

George Puscas did have time to pull one back for Reading but it was too little too late.

    Coventry City have done it!

They hang on for a crucial three points to kick-start their campaign but in the process it's a first dent in Reading's record for this season.

A fine game of five goals and no shortage of incident.

Coventry out of the bottom three with that win, Reading will have to wait and see by how much their lead is cut during the rest of this weekend.

Can Reading still rescue this? They need it up the other end of the pitch first...

    We aren't done yet!

Reading do pull a goal back and it's George Puscas who slots it home.

Nice one-two with Lucas Joao as they move the ball quickly and the Romania international pounces with a low finish inside the box.

    Coventry City 3-1 Reading

    Well, are they?

Lucas Joao almost looks like he's in with a glorious chance to haul one back, but he decides to try and lob Coventry keeper Marko Marosi rather than smash in the volley.

Easy claim in the end of the keeper.

Five minutes are being added on at the end of the 90.

Some petulent stuff now in the closing stages as both George Puscas and Marko Marosi are booked in separate incidents.

Reading are heading for a first defeat of the season.

    Sam McCallum

My word! This is game, set and match you feel now for Coventry!

Sam McCallum with almost his first touch since coming on finds the ball at his feet and space opening up in front of him as he strides into Reading's half.

He sets his sights on goal with his left foot and the swirling and dipping effort beats Rafael in the air and flies in.

Goalkeeper should've probably have done better, but take nothing away from the strike which is set to give his side a big three points.

    Coventry City 2-1 Reading

Dominic Hyam in the book now for Coventry after showing a touch of dissent after a foul.

Reading fail to use it wisely as the Sky Blues clear with ease.

Sone Aluko with the free-kick for Reading on his left foot and it's a smart save from Marko Marosi to his right as he pushes it away from danger with both hands.

Could've crept in inside that left post.

Coventry make another change as Fankaty Dabo makes way for Sam McCallum.

Into the closing stages we go.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 80 mins

    Coventry City 2-1 Reading

Booking for Coventry's Michael Rose as he trips Lucas Joao.

There's also a double substitution coming for Reading as Liam Moore and Michael Olise make way for Tom McIntyre and George Puscas at the back and up top.

    Matt Godden

    Coventry retake the lead!

It's their skipper Matt Godden who gets it as he pounces on the rebound from a Fankaty Dabo shot from outside the box.

Moments before sub Callum O'Hare before he played his part in a chance that Max Biamou should also have put away when he hit the crossbar from only a few yards out.

The resulting corner wasn't fully cleared by Reading and Dabo took a go from range. Rafael could only parry the shot away, but Godden reacted quickest and tucked it away into the open half of the goal.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Coventry City 1-1 Reading

First change of the night for Coventry.

Callum O'Hare on for the scorer Gustavo Hamer, who has been on a yellow card since just before half-time.

That goal tees this match up nicely now for an interesting last 20 minutes.

Max Biamou wins a free-kick for Coventry as he tries to sprint past Reading captain Liam Moore down the left.

    Lucas Joao

What a finish this is from a player in top form and the leaders are level!

Lucas Joao with his sixth goal of the Championship campaign so far comes from Josh Laurent slipping the ball through some Coventry legs to him 25 yards out.

He still has to shrug off the attentions of two to three players before finding just enough space to open himself up for a shot on his left foot, which finds the bottom right corner at pace from the edge of the penalty box.

    Fine finish.

    Coventry City 1-0 Reading

Another cross swung in from Reading towards Lucas Joao but once more he can't get a clean head on it.

Beaten to the ball by a Coventry player this time and it results in a corner, but Reading can't find one of their own players with the delivery.

Frustration boils over for Alfa Semedo who concedes a cheap free-kick deep in the Coventry half.

Reading building up to something you feel.

Tomas Esteves whips in a cross from the right towards the penalty spot and Lucas Joao meets it with his head, but only a glancing touch that isn't enough to direct it on target and behind it goes for a goal kick.

    Coventry City 1-0 Reading

Lots and lots of the ball for Coventry but not a lot of it in attacking areas.

Reading this time the ones to soak up the pressure and looking to capitalise on some tired legs, but they are giving it away perhaps a touch too casually.

  20. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Coventry City 1-0 Reading

    Frustrating times these for Reading.

They keep a lot of the ball and work it quickly, but Coventry are keeping a disciplined shape to fend them off for now.
