    Man Utd 1-0 West Brom

Sam Johnstone makes his sixth save of the game but it's one of his easier ones as he punches away Harry Maguire's shot.

    Man Utd 1-0 West Brom

Nemanja Matic clips a ball over the top to Anthony Martial. He cuts it back for Edinson Cavani, whose shot is blocked.

    Twenty minutes to go.

I will say of all the penalty aspects of this game, the decision to force the retake was the least controversial one in my eyes.

Adam Salter: Feel sorry for Sam Johnstone. He’s had a good game and that would have been a crowning moment. But it’s a mistake, he’s clearly off his line. We all love penalty saves (except when they’re against our team!), so there will be an outcry, but it’s the correct decision

West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone has been inspired against his old side.

Bruno Fernandes finds Marcus Rashford. Rashford dummies and then shoots from six yards out and somehow Johnstone reacts in time to palm it away.

On the basis Aston Villa had a penalty ruled out in very similar fashion to West Brom's earlier today, you could say consistency is being applied, although I doubt Slaven Bilic will agree.

Johnstone was clearly off his line when he saved Bruno Fernandes' effort though, so that was a case of VAR doing its job well.

Callum Robinson almost equalises with his first touch of the game with a sweet curling effort from the edge of the box. David de Gea is beaten but watches it smash off the crossbar.

When was the last time a player conceded, missed and scored a penalty in the space of 4 minutes????

That little skip in Bruno's run-up achieved exactly what it's meant to do - draws the keeper off his line. It means Bruno gets two bites of the cherry - score first time and the encroachment doesn't matter; miss and he gets a mulligan. Don't like it, but that's how it works these days

Even as a United fan I'm finding our penalty luck bordering on parody at this point.

    Mark, Manchester

United fan here. 44 penalties given in 127 games. I'm rather bored of winning games by penalties. Makes us look rubbish. Not the United way.

That is going to really dominate headlines because of everything that's happened in this half.

But Sam Johnstone was definitely off his line when he saved the penalty. It wasn't even close.

This penalty is much better from Bruno Fernandes. He goes high this time and not low and Sam Johnstone has no chance.
